پاکستان کے ریلوے اسٹیشنز کو خوبصورت سماجی و معاشی مراکز میں بدلنے کا خواب

پاکستان کے ریلوے اسٹیشن ہمیشہ سے ہر شہر کا دل رہے ہیں، مگر افسوس کہ آج وہ زیادہ تر شور، گردوغبار اور بے ترتیبی کی علامت بن چکے ہیں۔ اگر ہم چاہیں تو انہی اسٹیشنز کو ایسا مقام بنا سکتے ہیں جہاں لوگ صرف ٹرین پکڑنے نہ آئیں بلکہ دوستوں سے ملیں، کام کریں، اچھی کافی پئیں اور سکون کے چند لمحے گزاریں۔

یہ صرف خواب نہیں — بلکہ ایک ایسا وژن ہے جو پورے پاکستان کے سماجی اور معاشی نقشے کو بدل سکتا ہے۔

وژن: ہر ریلوے اسٹیشن پر ایک خوبصورت لاؤنج

ہم چاہتے ہیں کہ پاکستان کے ہر ریلوے اسٹیشن — کراچی سے گلگت تک — کو ایک کمیونٹی حب میں بدلا جائے۔ جیسے ہوائی اڈوں پر سی آئی پی لاؤنجز ہوتے ہیں، ویسے ہی ریلوے اسٹیشنز پر کافی شاپس، کیفے، اور آرام دہ لاؤنجز بنائے جائیں جو صرف مسافروں کے لیے نہیں بلکہ شہر کے رہائشیوں کے لیے بھی کھلے ہوں۔

مثلاً چونیاں، جیکب آباد یا چانگشا جیسے شہروں میں کوئی ڈھنگ کی کافی شاپ نہیں، جہاں لوگ بیٹھ کر بات کر سکیں یا کسی میٹنگ میں شامل ہو سکیں۔ اگر ریلوے اس کمی کو پورا کرے تو یہ شہروں میں نئی زندگی لے آئے گا۔

ان اسٹیشنز پر ہونا چاہیے:
• ایئر کنڈیشنڈ لاؤنجز، صاف واش رومز اور وائی فائی
• کافی شاپس اور کھانے پینے کے معیاری اسٹالز
• فری لانسرز اور طلباء کے لیے چھوٹے ورک اسپیسز
• مطالعے کے کونے اور مقامی مصنوعات کی نمائش

سمارٹ کنٹریکٹ ماڈل

اس منصوبے کے لیے حکومت یا پاکستان ریلوے کو ایک کنٹریکٹ یا فرنچائز ماڈل اپنانا چاہیے۔
اگر کوئی کمپنی کسی بڑے اسٹیشن — جیسے حیدرآباد یا لاہور — کے لیے کنٹریکٹ حاصل کرنا چاہتی ہے تو اسے لازمی طور پر دس چھوٹے اسٹیشنز کو بھی اپ گریڈ کرنا ہوگا، جیسے سانگھڑ، میاں چنوں یا روہڑی۔

اس سے فائدے یہ ہوں گے:
• ترقی صرف بڑے شہروں تک محدود نہیں رہے گی
• ملک کے تمام اسٹیشنز صاف ستھرے اور خوبصورت بنیں گے
• چھوٹے شہروں میں بھی روزگار اور کاروبار کے مواقع پیدا ہوں گے

اثر: ٹرین سے آگے جڑنے کی جگہ

یہ منصوبہ صرف اسٹیشنز کو خوبصورت نہیں بنائے گا بلکہ:
• نئی نوکریاں پیدا کرے گا
• چھوٹے کاروباریوں کو مواقع دے گا
• خواتین، طلباء اور خاندانوں کے لیے محفوظ ماحول فراہم کرے گا
• مفت وائی فائی دے کر لوگوں کو ڈیجیٹل تعلیم سے جوڑے گا
• اور سب سے بڑھ کر شہری فخر اور خوشی کو دوبارہ زندہ کرے گا

جب ریلوے اسٹیشن خوبصورت لاؤنج بن جائیں گے، تو وہ صرف سفر کی نہیں بلکہ رابطے، ملاقات اور نئے خیالات کی علامت بن جائیں گے۔

پاکستان کے عوامی مقامات کا نیا دور

جیسے دنیا بھر میں ہوائی اڈے کمیونٹی سنٹرز بن چکے ہیں، ویسے ہی پاکستان کے ریلوے اسٹیشنز کو بھی سماجی و تعلیمی مراکز بنایا جا سکتا ہے۔ ان جگہوں پر نوجوانوں کی میٹنگز، کتاب میلوں، اے آئی ورکشاپس اور چھوٹے کنسرٹس منعقد کیے جا سکتے ہیں۔

پاکستان کے پاس پہلے ہی 1,184 ریلوے اسٹیشنز کا جال موجود ہے — اب صرف وژن، منصوبہ بندی اور خوبصورتی کی ضرورت ہے۔

Railway stations are often the heart of a city, yet in most parts of Pakistan, they remain dull, noisy, and underutilized spaces. What if we could transform these stations into something beautiful, welcoming, and socially vibrant? Imagine walking into your local railway station not just to catch a train — but to meet friends, work remotely, sip good coffee, and connect to free WiFi.

This is not just a dream — it’s a vision that can reshape the social and economic fabric of Pakistan.

The Vision: A Lounge for Every Station

Every railway station — from Karachi to Gilgit — can become a community hub. Just like airports have CIPs and lounges, railway stations can host cafeterias, coffee shops, and comfortable lounges open to both travelers and local citizens.

In towns like Chunian, Jacobabad, or Changsha, there is often no decent place to sit with friends, hold a business meeting, or work with a laptop over coffee. The railway can change that.

These stations can have:
• Air-conditioned lounges with WiFi and clean restrooms.
• Coffee shops and snack bars offering local and international options.
• Small coworking corners for freelancers, students, and travelers.
• Mini reading libraries and local product showcases.

The Smart Contract Model

The government or Pakistan Railways can adopt a franchise or contract-based model.
When a company applies for a contract at a major station like Hyderabad or Lahore, they must commit to developing 10 smaller stations in less profitable areas such as Sanghar, Mian Channu, or Rohri.

This ensures:
• Every region gets development, not just the big cities.
• The aesthetic and cleanliness standards improve nationwide.
• Smaller towns gain social infrastructure that encourages tourism and pride.

This transformation will do more than beautify the stations. It will:
• Create jobs for baristas, cleaners, and hospitality staff.
• Attract small business owners to open stalls and mini cafés.
• Provide safe and clean spaces for women, students, and families.

• Strengthen civic pride, as stations become symbols of progress and hospitality.

When railway stations become modern lounges, they bring dignity and joy to daily travel. They become symbols of connection — not just between cities, but between people.
