He saw a man selling a strong donkey and asked, “How much is this donkey?” The seller replied, “One hundred gold coins!” Mulla looked at the donkey carefully and said, “That is too expensive! Can you sell it for fifty coins?” The seller shook his head. “No, this donkey is worth every coin!” Mulla thought for a moment and asked, “Tell me, if the donkey is so valuable, why are you selling it?” The seller replied, “Because I need money.” Mulla smiled and said, “Then perhaps the donkey needs money too! Why don’t you ask him to pay you?” The people standing nearby burst into laughter. The seller was speechless. Finally, Mulla said, “A price is not always what someone asks for; it is what someone is willing to pay!” Everyone laughed, and Mulla walked away happily, leaving the seller thinking about his clever words. Moral of the story: Wisdom and humor can help us see things from a different perspective. ## 🇵🇰 اردو کہانی: ملا نصرالدین اور گدھے کی قیمت ایک دفعہ کا ذکر ہے کہ ملا نصرالدین گاؤں کے بازار میں گدھا خریدنے گئے۔ وہاں انہوں نے ایک آدمی کو ایک مضبوط گدھا بیچتے ہوئے دیکھا۔ ملا نے پوچھا، ’’بھائی، اس گدھے کی کیا قیمت ہے؟‘‘ بیچنے والے نے جواب دیا، ’’سو سونے کے سکے!‘‘ ملا نے گدھے کو غور سے دیکھا اور کہا، ’’یہ تو بہت مہنگا ہے! کیا تم اسے پچاس سکوں میں بیچ سکتے ہو؟‘‘ بیچنے والے نے سر ہلاتے ہوئے کہا، ’’نہیں، یہ گدھا اپنی قیمت کے ہر سکے کے لائق ہے!‘‘ ملا نے کچھ دیر سوچا اور پھر پوچھا، ’’اگر یہ گدھا اتنا قیمتی ہے تو تم اسے بیچ کیوں رہے ہو؟‘‘ بیچنے والے نے جواب دیا، ’’کیونکہ مجھے پیسوں کی ضرورت ہے۔‘‘ ملا مسکرائے اور بولے، ’’تو پھر شاید گدھے کو بھی پیسوں کی ضرورت ہوگی! تم اس سے کیوں نہیں کہتے کہ وہ تمہیں پیسے دے؟‘‘ یہ سن کر وہاں کھڑے تمام لوگ زور زور سے ہنسنے لگے۔ بیچنے والا خاموش رہ گیا۔ آخر میں ملا نے کہا، ’’کسی چیز کی قیمت ہمیشہ وہ نہیں ہوتی جو بیچنے والا مانگتا ہے، بلکہ وہ ہوتی ہے جو خریدار دینے کے لیے تیار ہو!‘‘ سب لوگ ہنسنے لگے اور ملا نصرالدین خوشی خوشی وہاں سے چلے گئے، جبکہ بیچنے والا ان کی حاضر جوابی کے بارے میں سوچتا رہ گیا۔ سبق: عقل مندی اور مزاح ہمیں چیزوں کو ایک نئے انداز سے دیکھنا سکھاتے ہیں۔ The end! — اختتام! 😊
