- Did you know?
A handful of soil contains an astonishing number of microbes! In just one gram of soil, there can be over a billion bacteria, fungi, protozoa, nematodes, and other microorganisms. These tiny creatures play crucial roles in nutrient cycling, soil structure maintenance, and the decomposition of organic matter, making soil a vital and dynamic ecosystem.
Next time you eat a fruit or see a tree, remember that billions and trillions of bacteria helped make this happen.
Imagine holding tens of billions of these microscopic life forms in your hand, each contributing to the health of our planet.

Hey everyone! Debating is a great way to share ideas and learn from each other. But sometimes, debates can get a bit heated. Here’s how you can keep the conversation friendly and meaningful, even when you disagree. This is perfect for anyone, including our young debaters aged 12 and up!
1. Listen First
Before you respond, make sure you really understand what the other person is saying. Listen carefully and try to see things from their point of view.
2. Stay Calm
It’s easy to get upset if someone disagrees with you. Take a deep breath and stay calm. If you feel your emotions rising, pause for a moment.
3. Use “I” Statements
Talk about how you feel and what you think. Say things like “I believe…” or “I feel…”, instead of saying “You’re wrong…”.
4. Respect Others
Even if you disagree, respect the other person. Avoid name-calling or saying mean things. Remember, everyone has the right to their own opinion.
5. Ask Questions
If you don’t understand something, ask questions! This shows that you are interested in what the other person is saying and helps keep the conversation going.
6. Stay on Topic
Focus on the main issue you’re debating about. Don’t bring up unrelated points or past arguments. This helps keep the debate clear and productive.
7. Agree to Disagree
Sometimes, you won’t change each other’s minds, and that’s okay! It’s fine to agree to disagree and still be friends.
8. Use Facts and Examples
Support your points with facts or examples. This makes your argument stronger and shows that you have thought about your position.
9. Be Open-Minded
Be open to new ideas. Sometimes you might learn something new that changes your perspective. That’s part of the fun of debating!
10. End on a Positive Note
Finish the debate by thanking the other person for sharing their thoughts. Even if you didn’t agree, you both learned something from the conversation.
Remember, debating is about exchanging ideas and learning, not about winning or losing. Keep these tips in mind, and you’ll be a superstar debater in no time! ️
