But the only thing we could read was the bible. We were more or less fundamentalistic christians and more developed countries complained about us being too religious. About 200 years ago the church losened its grip on our population and allowed people to learn, to improve as individuals and as a group. The process of learning and improving took off around 1850. Then in 50-60 years we developed to a rich and well developed democratic country.
بہت دن پہلے میرا ملک سویڈن یورپ کا غریب ترین ملک تھا۔ تقریبا 300 300 سال پہلے کی بات ہے۔ پھر بھی ہم سبھی پڑھ سکتے تھے۔ لیکن صرف ایک ہی چیز ہم بائبل کو پڑھ سکتے تھے۔ ہم کم و بیش بنیاد پرست عیسائی تھے اور زیادہ ترقی یافتہ ممالک نے ہمارے بارے میں مذہبی ہونے کی شکایت کی تھی۔ تقریبا 200 سال پہلے چرچ ہماری آبادی پر اپنی گرفت کھو بیٹھا اور لوگوں کو فرد اور ایک گروہ کی حیثیت سے بہتری لانے کے ل people لوگوں کو سیکھنے کی اجازت دی۔ سیکھنے اور بہتری کے عمل کا آغاز 1850 کے لگ بھگ ہوا۔ پھر 50-60 سالوں میں ہم ایک امیر اور ترقی یافتہ جمہوری ملک میں ترقی کر گئے۔
