The Wise Ant and the Lazy Grasshopper

Once upon a time, in a lush green meadow, lived an ant and a grasshopper. The ant was diligent and hardworking, spending his days collecting food and storing it for the winter. Every morning, he would set out with determination, carrying tiny morsels back to his anthill.

The grasshopper, on the other hand, loved to sing and play all day. He would hop around, enjoying the sunshine and the pleasant breeze, often mocking the ant for working so hard.

"Why do you work so much, Ant? Come, enjoy the day with me!" the grasshopper would say.

But the ant replied, "I am preparing for the winter. When the cold comes, there will be no food, and I must ensure I have enough to survive."

The grasshopper laughed and continued his carefree life, convinced that there was plenty of time to worry about the future later.

As the seasons changed, the days grew shorter, and the air became crisp. Winter arrived, blanketing the meadow with snow. The grasshopper, now hungry and cold, found no food to eat and no shelter from the harsh weather. Shivering, he remembered the ant's warning and felt deep regret for not preparing.

Desperate and weak, the grasshopper approached the ant's anthill and humbly knocked on the door. The ant, seeing the grasshopper's plight, took pity on him. He shared some of his stored food and offered him a place to stay.

The grasshopper, grateful for the ant's kindness, vowed to change his ways. He learned the importance of hard work and planning for the future, promising to be more like the wise ant when spring returned.
