Mr. Asif Sharif specializes in marke:ng, project development in agriculture, produc:on process development and mechaniza:on, forward engineering, energy and responsible ci:zenship. He introduced plate planters, sugarcane planters, stubble shavers, sugarcane harvesters, combine harvesters, coGon picker, peanut harvester, potato plan:ng and harves:ng machines, grain silos and wide-span warehousing. He also designed, developed and manufactured
machinery for land leveling, customized precision laser leveling, raised-bed cropping, precision seeding, compost banding, fer:lizer side dressing, transplan:ng, weeding and soil aera:ng. Another hallmark of his achievements is growing rice on raised beds in moist soil; a novel ini:a:ve to save water use by 70%.
Mr. Asif Sharif collaborated with Cornell University & FAO on unifica:on of three diverse technologies known as System of Rice/Crop Intensifica:on (SRI/SCI), Conserva:on Agriculture (CA) and Organic Farming (OF), a sequel named as "Paradoxical Agriculture” which is inline with natural algorithm of soil fer:lity and vegeta:on. He is globally recognized as an ac:vist for No-Till, raised bed cropping, no inunda:on of soil, input op:miza:on and maintaining organic soil coverage for enhancing agricultural profitability and sustainability.
He has served as President of Pakistan Belgium Business Development Forum, Honorary Consul for the Republic of Poland, Member Board of Directors Zarai Taraqia: Bank (Agri. Dev. Bank) in addi:on to his membership of advisory boards of various governmental and private sector bodies. Mr. Sharif introduced and represented various pres:gious global companies in Pakistan such as: Ford Motor Company, Sperry New Holland, Ford New Holland, Case IH, To_, Long Manufacturing, Butler, Howard, Ursus and Kenwood to name a few.
He has been trained in the U.S, Australia and Europe and visited countries in five con:nents for study, training, business and leisure. He has developed major projects and presented technical papers on crop produc:on processes and methods and prac:cally transformed many farms by implemen:ng sound programs for mechaniza:on, management, opera:ons, farm design, irriga:on and produc:on systems, knowledge based skills development and :mely provision of resources for higher produc:vity.
