Frustration
This happened Many many years a go, with one of the guys who came to intern with me, and then stayed with me for many years.
I had a Suzuki FX, and we were going somewhere, when he tried to close the door, and he did not manage to do it properly, then i asked him to try again, and He did not manage to do it again, and I without thinking told him that “You do not know how to sit in a car brother ?”
Many years later, he told me with tears in his eyes, Rehan bhai, that was the first time in my life I sat in the car, I was 19 or so , and I used to be so angry when I saw all the cars driving around me, and I felt that I would never ever have one.
He said , “I wanted to just take a gun and steal the cars and things from these people” . That was his frustration, as he did not know any other way out. Today we have Millions of these people all around us, who are so depressed due to this frustration, that they are not able to get themselves out of this state, and we become so busy to help them out. I think even if the knowledge is out there, sometime, we do need to give a helping hand of mentorship, and help them cross the street, that they are scared of a few times, Once they are used to it, then they can cross the street on their own.
I never realized how blessed I was till then, that I never was in his shoes. I did not realize till he said that, that our words can be very harsh, and we need to be careful even about the simplest things in our lives, and that they may be hurting someone.
That young man was one of the hardest and sweetest of my colleagues I have had working with me, Now I do not know where he is but no matter where he is, I am very sure he is very successful.
