A few years ago, an extremist in Pakistan fought to have me sentenced to death because Facebook refused to ban content about Mohammed that offended him. We stood up for this because different voices -- even if they're sometimes offensive -- can make the world a better and more interesting place. Facebook has always been a place where people across the world share their views and ideas. We follow the laws in each country, but we never let one country or group of people dictate what people can share across the world. Yet as I reflect on yesterday's attack and my own experience with extremism, this is what we all need to reject -- a group of extremists trying to silence the voices and opinions of everyone else around the world. I won't let that happen on Facebook. I'm committed to building a service where you can speak freely without fear of violence. My thoughts are with the victims, their families, the people of France and the people all over the world who choose to share their views and ideas, even when that takes courage. #JeSuisCharlie . . . . Dear Mark, . I am Pakistani, I am sorry for what that Pakistani did that caused you pain & Sorrow. What you have created is the world's greatest tool to allow people to reach out to each other, talk to each other, learn from each other, a place for people to get out of ignorance, People take time to change, & Today learning to talk to each other may be one of the biggest problem in the world which I am very happy to see that #Facebook will solve, Insha Allah We are born with realities around us, & they are like that rope that when is tied to the small Elephant, He is not able to break that rope even when he grow's up, Human's are also like that, We will need time to learn to get out of these shekels , But I am very proud that Facebook has helped millions and will keep doing it for billions of people to change their thoughts. I am sorry that he tried to take you to court for sentence of Death. Due to what someone posted on Facebook, However he did took you to court and not took law in his own hand, & wanted to court to decide what is right and wrong. I congratulate you for being the chosen one for doing this task, & I encourage you to keep doing your job with more energy, more love, more dedication & not let anyone in the world stop you from hearing the right voice of your heart, Do not let anyone keep you go away from the path of truth, of equality, of harmony, of love, of Care, of Equanimity, of equality for all.
