One should work on becoming comfortable with the mess and the unknowns involved in solving society's problems. What Rehan and I both seek to build requires us to be nonlinear. We must try and fail or try and create solutions that aren't perfect until we figure out what will succeed. All solutions begin within the ideas generated in the messy behind the scenes. We must be transparent about this so that others feel empowered to keep going. Failure is part of success. Mess precedes the polished finished product.
