The Clever Plan of Mulla Nasrudin
One day, the villagers noticed that thieves had been stealing fruit from Mulla Nasrudin's orchard every night. Instead of staying awake to guard the trees, Mulla came up with a clever plan.
The next evening, he placed a large sign at the entrance of the orchard that read:
"Warning! One of the trees in this orchard has been poisoned. Do not eat the fruit."
When the thieves arrived, they became frightened. None of them wanted to risk eating poisoned fruit. They whispered among themselves and decided to leave without taking a single apple.
The next morning, the villagers were surprised to see that every piece of fruit was still on the trees.
One neighbor asked, "Mulla, did you really poison one of the trees?"
Mulla smiled and replied,
"No. But sometimes a clever idea is stronger than a locked gate."
Moral of the Story:
Wisdom and smart thinking can solve problems that strength alone cannot.
