People gathered from every corner to watch him perform. A strong rope was stretched high above the town square, and everyone held their breath as the performer carefully walked across it with perfect balance. The crowd burst into applause. Mulla Nasrudin, standing quietly among them, smiled and said, "That looks quite easy." The tightrope walker heard him and laughed. "If it's so easy, why don't you come up here and try it yourself?" The crowd cheered, eager to see what Mulla would do. Mulla looked up at the rope, then calmly replied, "I'd be happy to... but first, bring the rope down to the ground. I don't enjoy making simple things unnecessarily dangerous!" The crowd laughed loudly, and even the tightrope walker couldn't help but smile. Mulla continued, "Real skill isn't about doing risky things just to impress others. True wisdom is knowing when a challenge is worth taking—and when it isn't."
