Mulla Nasrudin’s Wise Answer .
One day, Mulla Nasrudin was walking through a busy market when he saw a shopkeeper selling a donkey for 1000 rupees. Mulla looked at the donkey carefully and asked, “Why is this donkey so expensive?” The shopkeeper proudly replied, “Because this donkey is very strong, hardworking, and useful.” Mulla smiled and said, “If it is really worth 1000 rupees, then I will give you 500 rupees for it.” The shopkeeper immediately said, “No, no! I cannot sell it for 500 rupees.” Mulla calmly replied, “Alright, I will come back tomorrow.” The next day, Mulla returned and said, “Yesterday you wanted 1000 rupees, but today I will offer only 250 rupees!” The shopkeeper and everyone around started laughing. Mulla then gave his wise answer: “Sometimes people decide the price of something without thinking about its real value.” Everyone understood Mulla’s clever lesson and smiled at his wisdom.
Moral: We should always think carefully and understand the true value of something before judging its price.
