Mulla Nasrudin’s Wise Answer

English Story
One day, Mulla Nasrudin was sitting in the village square. A curious man came to him and asked, “Mulla, tell me, who is the wisest person in the village?”
Mulla smiled and pointed toward a quiet old man sitting nearby. “He is very wise,” Mulla said.
The man was surprised and asked, “How do you know that?”
Mulla replied, “Because he listens more than he speaks.”
The curious man then asked, “But Mulla, does that mean a person who talks a lot is not wise?”
Mulla laughed and said, “Not always! But when you speak less, you have more time to think before you answer.”
The man thought about Mulla’s words and smiled.
From that day on, he tried to listen carefully and think before speaking.
Moral of the Story
True wisdom comes from listening carefully, thinking deeply, and speaking thoughtfully.
اردو کہانی
ایک دن ملا نصرالدین گاؤں کے چوک میں بیٹھے ہوئے تھے۔ ایک تجسس رکھنے والا آدمی ان کے پاس آیا اور پوچھا، “ملا صاحب! بتائیے، گاؤں میں سب سے زیادہ عقلمند شخص کون ہے؟”
ملا مسکرائے اور قریب بیٹھے ایک خاموش بوڑھے آدمی کی طرف اشارہ کیا۔ ملا نے کہا، “یہ شخص بہت عقلمند ہے۔”
آدمی حیران ہوا اور پوچھنے لگا، “آپ کو کیسے معلوم؟”
ملا نے جواب دیا، “کیونکہ یہ بولنے سے زیادہ سنتا ہے۔”
آدمی نے پھر پوچھا، “لیکن ملا صاحب، کیا زیادہ بات کرنے والا شخص عقلمند نہیں ہوتا؟”
ملا ہنس کر بولے، “ضروری نہیں! لیکن جب انسان کم بولتا ہے تو اس کے پاس جواب دینے سے پہلے سوچنے کے لیے زیادہ وقت ہوتا ہے۔”
آدمی نے ملا کی بات پر غور کیا اور مسکرا دیا۔
اس دن کے بعد اس نے کوشش کی کہ دوسروں کی بات غور سے سنے اور بولنے سے پہلے اچھی طرح سوچے۔
کہانی کا سبق
اصل دانائی غور سے سننے، گہرائی سے سوچنے اور سمجھداری سے بولنے میں ہے۔
