# Mulla Nasrudin & the Donkey’s Price
One day, Mulla Nasrudin decided to sell his donkey. He took it to the market and began looking for a buyer.
A man came up to him and asked, “Mulla, how much do you want for your donkey?”
Mulla replied, “I want fifty gold coins.”
The man was surprised and said, “Fifty gold coins! That is too expensive. Your donkey is not worth that much.”
Mulla smiled and said, “Perhaps you are right, but I am not selling the donkey to you. I am selling it to someone who knows its value!”
The man laughed and walked away.
Soon, another man came and offered Mulla twenty gold coins. Mulla refused.
The man asked, “Why won’t you sell it? I am offering you a fair price!”
Mulla replied, “My friend, if you think the donkey is worth only twenty coins, then you should buy a donkey that costs twenty coins!”
Everyone in the market began to laugh at Mulla’s clever answer.
In the end, Mulla found a buyer who agreed to pay a fair price for the donkey. He sold it happily and returned home.
