A milkmaid was carrying a pot of milk on her head, walking to the market. On the way, she began dreaming. "Ill sell the milk and buy eggs. Then Ill get hens. The hens will lay eggs, Ill sell them and buy a cow. Then Ill be rich!" She was so lost in her dream that she tossed her head proudly— and the pot of milk fell and broke. All her dreams disappeared in a moment.
Moral: Dont count your chickens before they hatch.
ایک دودھ والی لڑکی سر پر دودھ کا برتن رکھ کر بازار جا رہی تھی۔ راستے میں وہ خواب دیکھنے لگی، "یہ دودھ بیچوں گی، پھر انڈے خریدوں گی۔ انڈوں سے مرغیاں نکلیں گی، ان کے انڈے بیچ کر گائے خریدوں گی، اور پھر میں امیر ہو جاؤں گی!" وہ اتنی خوش ہوئی کہ فخر سے سر ہلایا— اور دودھ کا برتن گر کر ٹوٹ گیا۔ اس کے سارے خواب ایک لمحے میں ختم ہو گئے۔
اخلاقی سبق: قبل از وقت امیدیں باندھنا نقصان دہ ہو سکتا ہے۔
