Today I had a very insightful phone conversation with Mooketsi Bennedict Tekere .

Mooketsi Bennedict Tekere is an entrepreneur turned early-stage investor and a startup ecosystem builder working across Botswana, Rwanda, and California (USA). He is the Founder of Pula Space, a platform and micro-fund focused on supporting early-stage founders, connecting them with capital, mentorship, and global networks—especially in emerging markets.

He has played multiple roles as:
• Startup investor (pre-seed & seed)
• Founder & accelerator builder
• Mentor to African tech founders
• Advocate for sustainable venture ecosystems in Africa

His work is deeply focused on SaaS, technology startups, education, innovation ecosystems, and founder development, with a strong belief that Africa’s growth will come not from hype, but from patient capital, strong education, and long-term institution building.

What I appreciated most in our conversation was his clarity of thought and ecosystem mindset—thinking beyond individual startups to how countries and communities build innovation capacity over decades.

Always energizing to connect with people who are quietly and seriously building the future.

Looking forward to future conversations and potential collaboration
