The entire menu was priced at only Rs. 7.50, equivalent to just a little over USD 2.00 at that time, when the exchange rate was Rs. 3.5 rupees to a dollar. In todays terms, USD 2 would now translate to around Rs. 570, while such a menu at an upscale hotel would easily set one back by over Rs. 5,000 (without credit card discount ).
