Food for thought;
in a hundred years, in the year 2123, well all be dead and buried, as well as our relatives, friends and acquaintances. Our house, which we worked hard to own, will be seen as "home" by a stranger, even if not after renovation. All our possessions, upon which we have spent a large portion of our lives to accumulate, will be scattered, possessed by others, and lost. The car we spent a small fortune on will either be scraped or in the best case cherished as a classic by a stranger.
Our Nazis will hardly remember who we were; who of us knows who his great-grandfather was? After we die, we will be remembered for a few more years, in a photo frame on someones dresser. Years later our history, pictures and deeds will be lost in historys oblivion. We wont even be a memory anymore.
Always aiming for more, higher, faster, more expensive. Status and respect, self-enrichment, acquiring possession. If we took a moment to allow these thoughts to penetrate us, we might realize how insignificant and meaningless the dream of achieving all this really is. It would make us think and act differently and we would be a different person.
We lose sight of things that are really about. The missing comforting arm around the shoulder, the hug, the words of encouragement, the wink. The jokes we didnt take time for. In short, the moments that should really be remembered because they fill our lives with happiness.
And we waste it day after day with greed and envy, while we were better engaged in tolerance and tolerance, respect for others.
And most of all let’s spread love for ourselves and others .
