Lobsters were once considered a cheap and low-quality food, and they were often served to prisoners and other people who were considered to be at the bottom of the social hierarchy. In the past, lobsters were so abundant that they were considered a nuisance and were not highly valued as a food source. As a result, they were often used to feed prisoners and other people who were not able to afford more expensive food. However, today, lobsters are considered a delicacy and are much more expensive, and they are no longer used as a cheap source of food for prisoners or anyone else.
