ACCl Task 11 – Mulla Nasrudin’s Wise Answer
I have successfully completed my eleventh ACCl task titled “Mulla Nasrudin’s Wise Answer” .
This task taught me an important lesson about clever thinking and wisdom — how smart words and presence of mind can turn any situation in your favor .
Mulla Nasrudin’s Wise Answer
One morning, a wealthy merchant approached Mulla Nasrudin, who was sitting outside his house, brushing his donkey.
“Nasrudin,” said the merchant with a confident smile, “how much for this fine donkey of yours?”
Nasrudin paused for a moment, looked at his donkey proudly, and replied,
“A thousand gold coins.”
The merchant’s eyes widened in shock.
“A thousand gold coins? That’s ridiculous! This donkey isn’t worth even half that!”
Nasrudin smiled slyly and said,
“You’re right. The donkey itself isn’t worth that much… but I’m including my expertise in handling him.”
The merchant frowned, confused.
“Your expertise? Why would I need that?”
Nasrudin chuckled and replied,
“Because without it, you’ll lose your patience before you reach the next village.”
The merchant laughed, realizing the wisdom behind Nasrudin’s words. He bowed slightly and said,
“Truly, Nasrudin, your wit is worth more than gold.”
Moral:
Wisdom and experience often hold more value than the object itself.
