Back in April 2011, i created a facebook account with the specific aim of connecting with the foreigners. I banned, Urdu and any other language on my account. I only added friends from Western Europe, Middle East, far East Asia and Latin America. Within a year, my English skills improved dramatically. Not only that, i was able to learn a lot from the foreigners. My perspective changed about life. I got rid of judgemental behaviour, stigma, stereotypes, and so much more. In 2014, i created the largest multi-cultural group on Facebook with more than 45 admins with each representing their own country. The group had admins to represent countries, ethnic groups and even religions. At just the age of 19, i was fully aware of the importance of freedom speech. Thus, i allowed and encouraged healthy debates among the members and admins. Most of the members of the group were from Europe. A lot of them participated in the group activities. Alhamdulillah, i was lucky enough to realize the power of social media back in 2011. I communicated with foreigners for over a decade. Today, i have some great friends from Europe, the U.S and Russia and my communication skills are above average. Honestly, i learned a lot from the Facebook experience both in terms of expanding my knowledge and getting to know about the real meaning of life. .
