Today was not just a meeting — it was a moment of alignment. I had the privilege of spending time with Gulmina Bilal, Chairperson of National Vocational and Technical Training Commission (NAVTTC) — Pakistan’s apex body responsible for national skills policy, technical and vocational education standards, workforce development, and aligning training with industry needs across the country. She had scheduled 20 minutes. She stayed for two and a half hours. That alone speaks volumes. What impressed me most was her intellectual depth and sincerity. She is one of those rare leaders who is genuinely committed to empowering Pakistan — not through slogans, but through systems. She is a deep thinker. Constructively skeptical. Detail-oriented. Unwilling to accept ideas at face value. She zooms in. She questions. She challenges assumptions. She seeks clarity before conviction. Our discussion covered AI in education, national skills reform, earning while learning, financial independence for students, and building leadership by design. At the end of our conversation, she said: “This was one of the best, most intellectually stimulating conversations I’ve had in the last six or seven years.” She also said: “My heart says and wants me to admit my son in your school.” And then she described Rehan School as “revolutionary.” When a national leader responsible for shaping skills and workforce development for millions calls your work revolutionary — it is both humbling and energizing.
