The Story
One day, Mulla Nasrudin had to cross a river with his donkey. The only way was a small boat, but the boatman said, “I can take either you or your donkey, not both. The boat is too small.”
Nasrudin thought for a moment and smiled. Then he said, “Alright, I’ll go first. When I reach the other side, I will come back for my donkey.”
The boatman agreed. Nasrudin crossed the river and then returned alone in the same boat.
The surprised boatman asked, “But there is no space for both of you and the donkey!”
Nasrudin smiled and replied, **“Exactly! That’s why I came alone!”**
