He saw a man selling a donkey and asked, “How much is this donkey?” The seller replied, “It costs 100 gold coins.” Mulla looked at the donkey carefully and said, “That is too expensive! Can you sell it for 50 gold coins?” The seller shook his head and said, “No, my donkey is strong, healthy, and hardworking.” Mulla smiled and asked, “If your donkey is so hardworking, why don’t you let it earn the money itself?” The seller was surprised by Mulla’s clever question. The people standing nearby burst into laughter. Finally, the seller agreed to lower the price, and Mulla bought the donkey at a fair price. Everyone praised Mulla for his intelligence and sense of humor.
