Philippine Congress officially passed a Bill stating that all students from elementary school, high school, and college (roughly equivalent to primary school, secondary school and university) must plant at least 10 trees in order to graduate,The trees can be planted in either forests, mangroves, reserves, urban areas, abandoned mining sites, or in indigenous territory,
The legislation could result in as many as 525 billion trees planted in a generation.
?Even with a survival rate of only 10 per cent, this would mean an additional 525 million trees would be available for the youth to enjoy, when they assume the mantle of leadership in the future.?
