Wow, what a Man
Subject: The Laws of Cricket in Urdu
Dear Mr. Rehan Allahwala,
I have ventured to do something unique and original by producing in Urdu some literature related to Cricket Umpiring. It has taken me a long time to do so. I was enthusiastic to do this work in Urdu as I thought it would be beneficial to people connected with Cricket like, the umpires, players, scores, referees, administrators and the followers of the game.
My work comprises three books:
1. کرکٹ کے قوانین –
Translation of the Laws of Cricket: 2000 Code, 5th Edition 2013. This latest translation of the Laws of Cricket has the endorsement of the MCC. I got this book printed on my own and its copies have been acquired by the Pakistan Cricket Board at a discounted price, which is not a good bargain and I am deterred to go ahead with my other work. The Laws of Cricket in Urdu acquired by the PCB were meant for free distribution amongst umpires and scorers.
2. کرکٹ کے قوانین: تشریح و توضیح -
This is the interpretation of the Laws of Cricket in Urdu. The draft of this book (over 300 pages) is ready and needs revision before printing.
3. کرکٹ امپائرنگ: علم اور ہنر –
This book on requisites and technique of Cricket umpiring in Urdu is also ready. The draft is to be updated for printing.
With your great vision and love for Urdu I seek your advise as to how best can I utilize my work keeping in view the usefulness of the material in a versatile language like Urdu, which is spoken and understood almost everywhere in the world where Cricket is followed.
Looking forward to receiving a word from you,
Yours sincerely,
Mahboob Shah,
