Assalamu 'alaykum, Rehan. Here's an idea that is worth your time: A web site that teaches languages for free, rated as better than Rosetta Stone software. Here is a Ted Talk that the founder of the site gave: http://youtu.be/-Ht4qiDRZE8. Today there are six languages on-line, and 10,000,000 users. But since October 9, 2013, the site has invited native speakers of other languages to step forward to add their language to the site. It is a process that will take less time the more people participate. The first step of the process will be teaching speakers of the foreign language how to speak English. Then that data will be used to teach English speakers the foreign language. Finally, the collected data will allow speakers of any language to learn any other language. The business model of the site that explains why the site is free for language learners is explained in the video. I want you to consider recruiting people to add Urdu to the site. Once Urdu to English is accomplished, it will be easier to add Urdu to Chinese, Urdu to French, Urdu to etc., etc. They need to visit http://incubator.duolingo.com If you know speakers of Fushaa Arabic -- Arabic free of any dialects, not the language of the streets of Cairo, buit the language of AlJazeera, of academia, etc. Then encourage them, too. Again, the more people are involved, the faster the language will come on-line inshaAllah. If Urdu is added, millions of Pakistanis will benefit inshaAllah, and Urdu will be preserved, too, inshaAllah as an easy to learn language. When Arabic is added, inshaAllah, billions of people will have better access to the Quran, assuming that Fushaa is added as opposed to a dialect. Sorry for the long message. A great post by Anwer Mansur WHY SECTARIAN VIOLENCE ALL AROUND THE MUSLIM WORLD THESE DAYS? In recent years the Muslim world is going through an extreme wave of sectarian violence. Ruthless killings of innocent people from one sect to another, each sect calling other sect “non-Muslim”, each sect call themselves, either Sunni, Shia, Deo Bandi, Barelvi, Wahabi and so on. It is hard to keep even a track of all of these sects. What we do not hear is these words “I am a Muslim, a Submitter to God alone and I follow only one teaching of God alone, which is Quran. Non sense killing of other human beings without provocation is a gross sin. The only killing justified is in the course of war where people could not practice their religion freely and are being oppressed, and only if the other part has aggressed against the believers. Under no other circumstances a murder of an innocent person is justified. Quran: [5:32] Because of this, we decreed for the Children of Israel that anyone who murders any person who had not committed murder or horrendous crimes, it shall be as if he murdered all the people. And anyone who spares a life it shall be as if he spared the lives of all the people. Our messengers went to them with clear proofs and revelations, but most of them, after all this, are still transgressing. Not having the knowledge of Quran in Muslims lives is the main cause of these horrendous crimes being committed by so called Muslim Ummah. They are not following God’s laws, they are following only conjecture,. The most important Book for this humanity has been kept on shelves and to be recited in Arabic alone like a parrot, without understanding anything. GOD CALLS SECTS NON-MULIMS IN QURAN [6:159] Those who divide themselves into sects do not belong with you. Their judgment rests with GOD, then He will inform them of everything they had done. [30:32] (Do not fall in idol worship,) like those who divide their religion into sects; each party rejoicing with what they have. [42:14] Ironically, they broke up into sects only after the knowledge had come to them, due to jealousy and resentment among themselves. If it were not for a predetermined decision from your Lord to respite them for a definite interim, they would have been judged immediately. Indeed, the later generations who inherited the scripture are full of doubts.

Bism'Allah. I keep being asked to comment on horrific photos of children killed in Gaza... Do the people asking not think I have feelings? The real question is, would the people asking these questions see any difference were the photos of Israeli children? I would not; every death of child, every injury to a child are terrible tragedies to their parents, and our Human Family. Anyone who doesn't realise this is really missing the point... I do not take sides when it comes to the Israeli and Palestinian peoples. How can I? Firstly, their conflict is not my conflict. I'm neither Israeli nor Palestinian. Both Palestinians and Israelis are my sisters and brothers in our Human Family (Bani/Bnei Adam in Arabic and Hebrew). The Israeli/Palestinian conflict is over land and resources, it is not really about religion or ethnicity, both Israelis and Palestinians are multireliguous, multiethnic communities. Many arguments currently being made against Israel apply just as much to Hamas, and more so in some ways - Hamas deliberately targets civilians! That is completely indefensible, whichever way we look at it. How many Israeli children would have been killed were it not for Israel's "Iron Dome" antimissile batteries? Were Hamas as heavily armed as Israel, the casualties on both sides would be countless. We can certainly question the Israeli response, but seriously what do we expect the Israelis to do? The Israeli government would be being negligent to do nothing in the wake of ongoing rockets launched against their civilian population. Which government would tolerate that? In Syria it's been estimated around 9,000 children have been killed, and we still don't know how many children ISIS have murdered in Iraq. Do we only mourn when the children are killed are predominantly Muslims? Remember, Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, said all children are born in a state of fitrah. All children are innocent... The propaganda of extremists on both sides, both Hamas supporters and the Southern Baptist backed Likudniks, is seriously getting ridiculous. We need to ensure we are centred, and assess what is really going on. After nearly 7 decades, it should be clear that both sides have issues, neither is innocent, and old approaches are not bringing us any closer to resolving this conflict. I sympathise with the people of Gaza, but not for Hamas. As Muslims, we need to investigate, reflect and be more nuanced in our responses, not everything is as simple as it seems... If we care about children, we should be seeking an end to all violent conflicts, as children are always their greatest victims. Salam. My speech for Protest and Solidarity with Gaza Rally My Dear Brothers and Sisters, My Heart Cries, and My soul shiver’s when I see the Dreadful Photos from Gaza, and when I hear what is going on and how helpless these people are in this small peace of land. This is not the first time that the history is repeating it self, When Human’s are killed, and we are left to a state where our brain’s stop working, on what should we do. Over the year's I have Managed to get 10,000+ People on my facebook page from Palestine and many as my friends on my profile. I talked to Hundreds of them, and Today I wish to share with you my learnings, after my conversation with them. Now this is MY conversation, in attempt to understand what really is happening, and Please remember that I am still a student of life and this situation. Talking to these brothers and sisters also helped immensely in learning arabic, and to understand what are the problems of a society that is not getting idea's from anywhere else accept the people around them. Most of the people in Palestine, and Specially in Gaza speak only Arabic, Most are educated, and many highly educated, but their english skills are very low, Most do not have job's, and most live on money which is sent to them from over sea's by their family members or in form of aid. Most of them are depressed, and wish to leave the country due to the problems, or want to study even more, to get job's as they feel that with this they can get jobs over sea’s. When I tell them to work online, or study online, this idea is foreign to them and they are not very keen on doing it, as they have not seen it yet to believe it. My brothers and sisters, who are reading this, I have spent a LOT of my time, A lot of money, and neglected the people around me, including my own company and Family, due to this issue of Palestine, So that I can try to understand and have a better understanding of the issue and see it with my own eyes. I have yet to be physically there, but I feel that I have many friends their who I live with, who I feel, and Who I care for DEEPLY to help them in any way or form that I can. In this process, I have managed to make many many great friends, brothers and sisters, one of whom wanted donate to me acre's of Millions of Dollars worth of land, for me to come to Ramallah and make Rehan University as a Physical entity there to help the people of Palestine. I just like you wish to help them, as we as ummah are all one. I request you today to please reach out to these people, find 100 of them via Facebook and talk to them, condole them, adopt them as your brother and sister in islam, and talk to them, Learn Arabic from them and teach them english, as it is a natural process that will happen when you will try to talk to them. Then introduce them to people who can guide them on how they can work online via internet, using great websites like Elance.com, freelancer.com and Fiverr.com , RehanTasks.com, Rehanwork.com Do business with them, do trade with them, see if you can hire them for some of your work over the internet for your business, to do work for you in the arabic world for you, as they Arabic is pure, and they can help you grow your business in the Arab world. To find them, simply go on your Facebook search bar and type, People living in Palestine and your search will start, and the journey will begin. in the End, I just want to tell you that I think that the situation is Palestine is NOT as it seem to us, I encourage you to investigate it, find more about it, and not just listen to any media, but talk to the real people on the ground, and try to get to the bottom of the problem, as only by understanding all side’s is a problem solved. The best way to learn a language is to be around the people who speak it and try to speak it, you can never learn it any other way, just by talking for last 1.5 years with people of Palestine I can now understand much of Arabic, and by speaking with 300 Pakistanis and others Zahra Ain Areek can now understand english .
