Task topic: Living in Denial – Climate Change – Iqra Khilji
Climate change is one of the greatest challenges facing our world today. Rising temperatures, melting glaciers, extreme weather events, and changing ecosystems are clear signs that our planet is under pressure. Despite the growing evidence, many people continue to deny or ignore the reality of climate change, delaying the actions needed to protect our environment.
From devastating floods to prolonged droughts and heatwaves, the effects of climate change are becoming more visible every year. Communities around the world are experiencing the consequences, with impacts on agriculture, water resources, wildlife, and public health. These changes remind us that climate change is not a distant problem—it is happening right now.
Human activities such as deforestation, pollution, and the excessive use of fossil fuels contribute significantly to global warming. However, every individual can play a role in creating positive change. Simple actions like saving energy, reducing waste, recycling, and planting trees can make a meaningful difference in protecting our planet for future generations.
The first step toward solving any problem is accepting that it exists. By moving beyond denial and embracing responsibility, we can work together to build a cleaner, greener, and more sustainable future. Awareness, education, and action are the keys to combating climate change and ensuring a healthier world for everyone.

**Living in Denial – Climate Change | Iqra Khilji**
Climate change is no longer a distant threat—it is happening **right now, all around us.** From rising temperatures and melting glaciers to unpredictable weather, devastating floods, droughts, wildfires, and the loss of biodiversity, our planet is sending us urgent warnings.
Yet, despite the evidence surrounding us, many people continue to live in **denial**. Why do we ignore what we can clearly see? Why do we continue our everyday lives as if the future of our planet is someone else’s responsibility?
**“Living in Denial – Climate Change” by Iqra Khilji** explores this uncomfortable reality and encourages us to look beyond excuses, misinformation, and indifference. Climate change is not just an environmental issue—it affects our **health, food, water, economy, communities, and future generations.** ‍‍‍
The choices we make today matter. Every step toward reducing waste, conserving energy and water, protecting nature, choosing sustainable practices, and raising awareness can contribute to a healthier planet.
We don't need to wait for someone else to take action. **Change begins with awareness, and awareness begins when we stop denying the problem.**
    Let’s educate ourselves.
    Let’s question our habits.
Let’s speak up for our planet.
And most importantly, **let’s turn concern into action.**
The Earth does not need us to be perfect—it needs us to **care, act, and start now.**
Watch, reflect, share, and become part of the conversation about climate change. Together, we can move from **denial to awareness, and from awareness to action.**

Or maybe at least to stop killing one another! More Muslims are murdered by other "alleged" muslims (because a genuine Muslim can never murder) than by anyone else. :-( Why are people not complaining about that?!? Why wont Jordan, or Egypt, or Turkey allow the people who have emigrated from Gaza become citizens, or even landowners in their countries?!?! Arent they Arab brothers? Why is ISIS, the "planned up and coming new Khalifa" on a murder spree through Iraq? Why is the Muslim world watching our brothers and sisters being murdered by the score in Syria? Why are we not condemning the rabid "islamist" terrorists like Boko Haram who are kidnapping and murdering other Muslims? So sadly, many, many innocent people are being murdered all over the earth :( Khurram, ALL people belong to Allah. From Him we came, and to Him we will return. There is one race on earth, created by the One GOD. Its called "human". Understanding the reality of this is a good start!

I keep being asked to comment on horrific photos of children killed in Gaza... Do the people asking not think I have feelings?
The real question is, would the people asking these questions see any difference were the photos of Israeli children? I would not; every death of child, every injury to a child are terrible tragedies to their parents, and our Human Family. Anyone who doesnt realise this is really missing the point...
I do not take sides when it comes to the Israeli and Palestinian peoples. How can I? Firstly, their conflict is not my conflict. Im neither Israeli nor Palestinian. Both Palestinians and Israelis are my sisters and brothers in our Human Family (Bani/Bnei Adam in Arabic and Hebrew).
The Israeli/Palestinian conflict is over land and resources, it is not really about religion or ethnicity, both Israelis and Palestinians are multireliguous, multiethnic communities.
Many arguments currently being made against Israel apply just as much to Hamas, and more so in some ways - Hamas deliberately targets civilians! That is completely indefensible, whichever way we look at it.
How many Israeli children would have been killed were it not for Israels "Iron Dome" antimissile batteries? Were Hamas as heavily armed as Israel, the casualties on both sides would be countless.
We can certainly question the Israeli response, but seriously what do we expect the Israelis to do? The Israeli government would be being negligent to do nothing in the wake of ongoing rockets launched against their civilian population. Which government would tolerate that?
In Syria its been estimated around 9,000 children have been killed, and we still dont know how many children ISIS have murdered in Iraq. Do we only mourn when the children are killed are predominantly Muslims?
Remember, Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, said all children are born in a state of fitrah. All children are innocent...
The propaganda of extremists on both sides, both Hamas supporters and the Southern Baptist backed Likudniks, is seriously getting ridiculous.
We need to ensure we are centred, and assess what is really going on. After nearly 7 decades, it should be clear that both sides have issues, neither is innocent, and old approaches are not bringing us any closer to resolving this conflict.
I sympathise with the people of Gaza, but not for Hamas. As Muslims, we need to investigate, reflect and be more nuanced in our responses, not everything is as simple as it seems...
If we care about children, we should be seeking an end to all violent conflicts, as children are always their greatest victims.
    Salam.
