  • Remove from the picture the curse of nationalism/patriotism, remove the twisted delusions of fighting for the land/flag/country when its actually to serve the interests and whims of a select few, remove the false notions of nationalistic and ancestral pride so that the only acceptable sense of pride that remains is in ones own accomplishments and contributions towards humanity, and war will become obsolete.

  • **Title: The Man Who Built More Than Buildings – The Living Legacy of Shahid Abdulla**

*By Rehan Allahwala, with a wish for his voice to echo forever through podcasts and public memory.*

    ---

In a country where the skyline often struggles to reflect the soul of its people, **Shahid Abdulla** has quietly spent decades changing that—not just with steel and stone, but with service, spirit, and an unshakable belief that design can be both beautiful and compassionate.

This is not merely a story of an architect. This is the tale of a **human builder**, a **nation shaper**, a man whose every sketch whispered, *"Pakistan deserves better."*

    ---

    ### **The Return That Rebuilt a Nation**

In 1974, a young Pakistani architect graduated from the University of Illinois, Chicago. The path forward was clear—America, prosperity, prestige. But Shahid did something few dare to do. He **turned back**.

    Back to Pakistan.

    Back to chaos.

    Back to *purpose*.

With his brother, the late Arshad Abdulla, he co-founded **Arshad Shahid Abdulla (ASA) Pvt. Ltd.**, a firm that would go on to *redefine the architectural identity of Pakistan*—not with vanity, but with values.

    ---

    ### **A Heart That Builds Beyond Walls**

Shahid never just designed buildings—he designed **systems of hope**:

    * **Over 2,500 schools** with The Citizens Foundation
    * **Hunar Foundation**’s vocational centers that give dignity and skills to the underserved
    * **Indus Valley School of Art and Architecture**, a sanctuary for creative minds in a commercial world
    * Countless **hospitals**, **factories**, **public toilets**, **parks**, and even **roads**

    To many, these are projects.

To Shahid, these are **prayers answered in concrete and glass**.

    ---

    ### **When Heritage Met the Future**

Perhaps his most poetic act? Moving an entire century-old building—**Nusserwanjee Building**—from Kharadar to Clifton, **stone by stone**, saving it from demolition. Who does that?

Someone who knows **a nation that forgets its past can never shape its future**.

    ---

    ### **The Humble Giant Among Us**

Despite receiving the **Pride of Performance (2014)** and **Sitara-e-Imtiaz (2022)**—Shahid Abdulla remains *humble*. No billboard. No social media boasting. Just more work. More kindness. More impact.

    He was part of:

    * **Expo 2020s Pakistan Pavilion**, ranked among the top globally
    * **NICVD Trust**, bringing cardiac care to those who couldnt dream of affording it
    * **Nehr-e-Khayyam’s rejuvenation**, where he envisioned not just a waterway, but a *river of rebirth for Karachi*

    ---

    ### **My Wish as Rehan Allahwala**

As someone who believes deeply in the **power of stories**, I have a heartfelt request:
**Let the voice of Shahid Abdulla live on forever.**
Let his thoughts, his stories, his vision—not be buried in reports or forgotten in meetings.

I wish he would appear on *hundreds of podcasts*, YouTube channels, and documentaries.
Let every child, every architect, every dreamer hear **how a single man—armed with a pencil, purpose, and patriotism—redesigned the soul of Pakistan.**

We have heard enough from celebrities.
Its time the **true legends** speak.

    ---

    ### **A Final Word**

If buildings could speak, they would tell you how it feels to be born from the hands of Shahid Abdulla.

    They would say:
*"He didn’t build us to touch the sky. He built us to uplift the people walking under us."*

And maybe that’s what makes him not just a great architect,
but a **living monument of love, courage, and quiet revolution.**

    Let the world know him.
Let the youth learn from him.
And let his voice **never fade**.

    ---

Would you like me to now prepare a version of this essay as a **Facebook post**, **podcast script**, or **video script with emotional music cues**?

  • Monis Rahman — The Man Who Put Pakistan to Work

When the history of Pakistan’s digital economy is written, one name will always appear in bold letters: Monis Rehman — the founder of Rozee.pk, the platform that helped millions of Pakistanis find jobs, build careers, and gain confidence in their future.

His journey is not just a business story. It is a story of purpose, patriotism, and thinking big for Pakistan.

Early Life: A Child of Two Worlds

Monis Rehman was born in Pakistan but raised between cultures. He spent his early years moving between Pakistan and the United States, absorbing two very different worlds. From Pakistan, he inherited passion, heart, and a desire to uplift people. From America, he absorbed technology, systems, and the hunger to solve big problems.

He studied engineering and computer science in the U.S. and began his career in Silicon Valley — the place where dreams and code come together. But even at that time, his eyes were always on Pakistan.

A Misguided Moment That Became a Turning Point

Like many young Pakistanis abroad, Monis wanted to do something meaningful for his homeland. When he returned to Pakistan in the early 2000s to build a tech startup, he faced a challenge: How do you find the right people to hire?

There was no reliable online job portal in Pakistan. The process was slow, messy, inefficient, and unfair.

    That pain became the spark.

    The Birth of Rozee.pk

In 2007, Monis launched Rozee.pk, a simple job-posting platform. It began with a small team and a big vision:
To use technology to connect talented Pakistanis with good employers.

Within a few years, Rozee.pk became Pakistan’s largest online job marketplace. It changed lives:
    • Millions of people found employment
    • Hundreds of thousands of companies hired talent
    • Recruiters finally had a modern system
    • Job seekers had dignity and opportunity

Monis proved that you don’t have to leave Pakistan to succeed — you can build global-level tech right here.

    Leadership Style: Humble, Hands-On, Nation-Focused

Monis Rehman is known for his humility. Despite being one of Pakistan’s top tech founders, he remains simple, approachable, and deeply focused on impact. He believes that Pakistan’s biggest asset is its people — and that with the right tools, anyone can rise.

His work didn’t stop at jobs. He built:
    • Finja – a fintech startup to empower small businesses
    • Dastak – a digital platform for home chefs
    • Other ventures that show his commitment to building Pakistan’s digital infrastructure

Where others see problems, Monis sees opportunities.

    A Visionary for Pakistan’s Future

Monis always talks about one thing: building systems that empower Pakistanis.

    His philosophy is simple:
    • If people get jobs, poverty goes down.
    • If businesses find talent, the economy grows.
    • If youth have opportunity, the country rises.

He is one of the rare founders who thinks not just about profit, but about national uplift.

Why We Must Learn From Him

Today, millions of Pakistanis have earned salaries, supported families, and built careers because of Rozee.pk. The impact is bigger than many universities.

Where universities give degrees, Monis gave opportunity.

Where the system creates bottlenecks, he created access.

Where people were hopeless, he gave them a path.

This is why Pakistan needs 100 more Monis Rehmans — people who build platforms that change lives at scale.

    A Call to Action

Let us study his life, his mindset, his courage, his clarity. Let us teach our youth to think like him.

Let us create platforms, not just businesses.

Let us solve problems, not just complain.

Monis Rehman’s story is the story of a man who believed that Pakistan can rise — and then proved it.
