    Ted talk no 7

Task topic: "How to be productive without burnout" – Cal Newport. **TEDx Talk Review — “How to Be Productive Without Burnout” by Cal Newport**

Today, I watched a very useful TEDx Talk by **Cal Newport** about productivity, focus, time management, and avoiding burnout.

The talk made me think about the difference between **being busy and being productive**. Sometimes we spend many hours working, studying, checking notifications, using social media, and switching between different tasks, but that does not always mean we are making meaningful progress.

One of the most important ideas I learned is the value of **deep focus**. When we remove unnecessary distractions and give our full attention to one important task, we can improve the quality of our work and make better use of our time.

Another important lesson is that **rest and recovery are part of productivity**. Taking breaks, getting enough sleep, and creating healthy boundaries can help us maintain our energy and concentration instead of constantly pushing ourselves until we become exhausted.

This message is especially useful for students. Instead of studying for many hours while constantly checking a phone, we can choose an important task, focus on it for a specific period, take a short break, and then continue. Small changes in our daily routine can help us work more effectively.

The talk also encouraged me to think about priorities. Instead of asking, “How much work can I do today?” we can ask, **“What is the most important thing I should accomplish today?”**

My biggest takeaway from this talk is that productivity is not about doing everything. It is about focusing on what matters, managing our time wisely, reducing distractions, and taking care of ourselves.

**I have recorded my review in both English and Urdu**, sharing the main ideas I learned and how they can be applied to everyday life.

Thank you for watching my review!

Keep learning, stay focused, manage your time wisely, and remember that **being productive should not mean sacrificing your well-being.**

  • Episode #300 – Rehan Foundation Interview Series

In this episode, we are joined by Kimberly Wiefling, an inspiring leadership facilitator, author, entrepreneur, physicist, coach, and innovation expert whose work focuses on helping people and organizations turn “impossible” into INEVITABLE.

Kimberly Wiefling’s superpower is facilitating breakthroughs — helping managers become leaders, groups become true teams, and organizations achieve things they once believed were impossible.

She is the author of the globally popular book “Scrappy Project Management,” founder of Wiefling Consulting, and cofounder of Silicon Valley Alliances. For more than 20 years, she has worked with global Japanese companies and organizations across Asia, Australia, Europe, and North America, facilitating cross-cultural workshops and learning experiences designed to improve leadership, teamwork, innovation, and organizational performance.

Her journey combines science, engineering, business, leadership, and entrepreneurship. A physicist by education, Kimberly spent 10 years at HP in seven different engineering and project management roles, including leading an R&D team developing a new mass spectrometer. She later spent three years in Silicon Valley startups, leading product development teams working across hardware, software, and complex systems.

Over the years, Kimberly has also helped start, run, and grow multiple small businesses, including a company that reached millions of dollars in revenue with only seed funding from its founders.

Today, Kimberly focuses on creating powerful learning environments where leaders and teams can discover what is truly possible when they work together effectively. She is also increasingly focused on using her experience, leadership skills, and the rapidly developing power of AI to create positive change and contribute toward a more sustainable future for our planet.

In this inspiring conversation, we explore:

    • What makes a great leader truly effective

    • The difference between managing people and leading people

    • How to build highly effective teams

    • Creating a strong and healthy organizational culture

    • How leaders can use AI as a “coach in your pocket”

    • Using AI to become a more effective leader and manager

    • The role of innovation in modern organizations

    • Why predictable causes of failure continue to affect organizations

    • How to identify and prevent failure before it happens

    • Turning “IMPOSSIBLE” into “INEVITABLE”

    • How organizations can achieve extraordinary results together

    • Lessons from working with global Japanese companies

    • Cross-cultural leadership and collaboration

    • What entrepreneurship can teach us about leadership and innovation

    • How to create teams capable of achieving the seemingly impossible

    • The importance of experimentation, learning, and adaptability

    • Using AI responsibly to create meaningful positive impact

    • Leadership lessons from Silicon Valley, engineering, and entrepreneurship

    • How leaders can create a more sustainable future

This episode is a powerful conversation about leadership, teamwork, innovation, organizational culture, AI, entrepreneurship, resilience, and the mindset required to turn ambitious ideas into reality.

Kimberly reminds us that the biggest breakthroughs often begin when someone is willing to challenge the assumption that something is impossible.

Because with the right leadership, the right team, the right mindset, and the right tools — IMPOSSIBLE can become INEVITABLE.

    **Description**

I watched Shawn Achor’s TED Talk, **“The Happy Secret to Better Work.”** In this talk, Shawn Achor explains the connection between happiness, positive thinking, and productivity. He shares how developing a positive mindset can influence the way we learn, work, and deal with challenges. I learned that happiness should not always be treated as something we achieve only after becoming successful. Instead, positive habits and a healthy mindset can help us work toward our goals more effectively. This talk was interesting and meaningful for me as a student because it taught me the importance of gratitude, positivity, and maintaining a constructive attitude toward challenges.

**"Courage doesn’t always roar." — Mary Anne Radmacher **

This project presents an inspiring message about **courage, inner strength, confidence, and perseverance**. The quote reminds us that courage is not always loud or dramatic. Sometimes, true courage can be found in quiet decisions, small steps, and the strength to continue even when we are afraid.

Courage can mean facing difficult situations, speaking up when necessary, trying again after failure, or simply choosing to move forward despite uncertainty. It teaches us that being brave does not mean having no fear; it means continuing forward even when fear is present.

    **The message teaches us:**
Courage can be quiet and powerful
Being afraid does not mean being weak
Small acts can require great bravery
Believe in yourself during difficult moments
    Face challenges with determination
Learn from failures and keep moving forward
Inner strength can help us overcome obstacles
