English Story: Mulla Nasrudin & the Donkey’s Price
Once upon a time, Mulla Nasrudin went to the village market to buy a donkey. He saw a man selling a donkey and asked, “How much is this donkey?”
The seller replied, “It costs 100 gold coins.”
Mulla looked at the donkey carefully and said, “That is too expensive! Can you sell it for 50 gold coins?”
The seller shook his head and said, “No, my donkey is strong, healthy, and hardworking.”
Mulla smiled and asked, “If your donkey is so hardworking, why don’t you let it earn the money itself?”
The seller was surprised by Mulla’s clever question. The people standing nearby burst into laughter.
Finally, the seller agreed to lower the price, and Mulla bought the donkey at a fair price.
Everyone praised Mulla for his intelligence and sense of humor.
Moral of the Story: Always use your intelligence and humor to solve problems.
اردو کہانی: ملا نصرالدین اور گدھے کی قیمت
ایک دفعہ کا ذکر ہے کہ ملا نصرالدین گاؤں کے بازار میں گدھا خریدنے گئے۔ وہاں انہوں نے ایک آدمی کو گدھا بیچتے ہوئے دیکھا۔
ملا نے پوچھا، ”اس گدھے کی قیمت کیا ہے؟“
بیچنے والے نے جواب دیا، ”اس کی قیمت سو سونے کے سکے ہیں۔“
ملا نے گدھے کو غور سے دیکھا اور کہا، ”یہ تو بہت مہنگا ہے! کیا تم اسے پچاس سکوں میں بیچ سکتے ہو؟“
بیچنے والے نے سر ہلاتے ہوئے کہا، ”نہیں، میرا گدھا بہت مضبوط، صحت مند اور محنتی ہے۔“
ملا مسکرائے اور بولے، ”اگر تمہارا گدھا اتنا ہی محنتی ہے تو اسے خود پیسے کمانے کیوں نہیں دیتے؟“
ملا کی ذہانت بھری بات سن کر بیچنے والا حیران رہ گیا۔ وہاں کھڑے تمام لوگ ہنسنے لگے۔
آخرکار، بیچنے والے نے قیمت کم کر دی اور ملا نے مناسب قیمت پر گدھا خرید لیا۔
سب لوگوں نے ملا کی ذہانت اور مزاح کی تعریف کی۔
