  • ADD ME Can two words typed over the internet from a total stranger on the other side of the planet change your life? Can five letters of a symbolic code change ones perspective? The outcome ironic in many ways. The choice in hindsight immediate. The click of the mouse on the “add as friend” as historic a moment as I will ever experience. As I scrolled the names of comments on a fish game on facebook, one stood out. The profile picture Freddy Kruger the name Kabeer Khan. The irony of this persona did not escape me. In the weeks to come there were gifts of fish given, aquariums visited. For every gift, I received a thoughtful acknowledgment. After one particularly heartfelt thank you, I visited his profile. His profile statement~I am hemophiliac from birth at Fatimid. You must help us. It listed the country as Pakistan. I then followed a link to a group. This explained that Fatimid was a hospital for poor people with blood disorders. I sat and read that statement over and over. You must help us! The desperation even at this moment brings tears to my eyes. No question, no option. Pure desperation. The choice so clear in this young mans mind. This statement so deliberate, became a mantra in my head. What could make a situation so urgent, to demand? After a day or so of pondering these questions, and getting up the nerve to speak to someone that would put a serial killer on their profile I sent a chat message. I said hello. I asked how I could help. I offered to make an American page for Fatimid to show support. In minutes, I was an Admin on his group. Accepted without question as someone who was sincere. At this moment, my life changed for ever. My perception of the world, the internet, what possibilities were out there that I have never considered, everything changed. In one moment two peoples lives would never be the same. In seemingly one moment a bond was formed. A thread of love, hope, and caring was without knowing about to sew the most beautiful tapestry imaginable. What I found was an incredible humanity fostered by desperation. A family locked in a daily struggle. Not for what we would consider basic needs, but for a need at an even more vital level. Blood. Broken down even further one component of blood. A component that all four brothers in this family need from outside sources to survive. In a country that faces struggles on a daily basis that we in the west can only see in our nightmares. I found a mother. A loving, caring mother, who through struggles I think I will never know. Brought up 4 productive, loving boys. Boys who do not wallow in self pity. Boys who work hard to make their parents proud, and to make Pakistan a better place. I found a father who worked 2 jobs to put his children through school. I found without knowing at the time, a family. Sons I never dreamt I would have. A sister so dear I long to meet. I found people I miss everyday, without ever knowing. And in the process I found ME.

  • Dear Positive Thinkers, Assalam Alaykum!

Among all the sufferings happening around the world (Loss of loved ones, Ghaza war & sufferings, IDPs in Pakistan, Syria Etc) , lets pray for Allahs blessings and Mercy for all. May Allah Tala help us get united, hopeful , stay positive and help each other, as this is the only way we can survive under extreme challenges and calamities of life. Lets remember all those who passed away, and many going through worst conditions on this Eid...

We can never repay all those who have sacrificed their lives and liveliness for others, but we can do our part by using our intellect, knowledge, energies (instead of raw jazbaats) to understand current events and trends ,come together as a team and work on bringing grass root level change this world desperately needs. Lets train ourself to ponder, think and create a culture of learning, teaching, and gathering knowledge and helping up-bring leaders who can guide this world a better place.

PTC is a movement of responsibility.... If we train ourself of do our part (not just thinking, but actions as well) we will be able to create positive trends .... this is the only way we can undo negativity!

  • A very powerful and interesting note Received, Those who like to think and Ponder, Please read.

    Rehan Bhai,

the point you said in your status, for peace you need to have an enemy is worth pondering, its such a great point i sometimes use to mesmerize the modern patriotic concept in our youth this nationalism pill over the last 60-70 years has killed us,
not just us, but hundreds of nations and million of lives before us now and would in future..

I as a question and I would like you to ask this from people,

How does one defines his/her own identity? how do you define an identity? for e.g if you didnt get the question then if you are a Pakistani then how do you define you are a Pakistani? for a Pakistani to be defined you always need an opposition an opposite,

the point that how do you exist? can only and only be defined from an opposition.

Pakistanis exist because india exists! if india does not exist so wouldnt pakistan. because you be came Pakistani when india existed, what if india does not exist? then would there be a pakistan? or the identity would change?

the taza tareen misal is ... to prove an Israel to exist you need palestine

you ask a way or solution i dont know about that but im using it over here, that what if you end palestine today , just say for the argument palestine does not exists today then how would you define israel? the meaning the cause the existence the identity would end for an israeli. so palestine would never die would never end even if it has to of the size of a mise but it would exist, same goes for america, now they cannot exist without a terrorist opposition, to signify their power over the world they have to constantly engage with an enemy to prove to show they are in power.

what if some other country lets se china starts a war with azerbaijan Or fiji or pacific people, what would that mean to american power?

Keeping in mind america doesnt has any concern with china having war with people of fiji

but still america would be threatened because the power house it holds would be at stake, the reason america backs israel is the same, because for one it cannot stand against israel due to economical reasons second if it stands with palestine it would mean the power house is now with the weak, it would mean a war against israeel, because anything that israel does would be directly involving america as it is the papa now not palestine. so any how things are bit complicated then just defining them as so simple.

  • Can a Husband force his Wife to wear the Hijāb?

    Question:
My wife is a practicing Muslim but she insists that wearing the Hijāb is no requirement of Islam. Is it obligatory for me as the husband to ensure that she wears the Hijāb? Will I be held responsible if my wife does not wear the Hijāb? How essential is it for women to cover the head?

    Answer:
A husband has not been given the right to compel his wife to wear the Hijāb (garment that covers the head and chest). If your wife is intellectually convinced that the Hijāb is not required by Islam, the only thing you can and should do is to have a good exchange of views with her regarding her arguments. You should try to state the stance of Islam in a very polite and humble manner and leave her to ponder over it. Also, keep thinking about your own arguments. At times, one tends to be more dogmatic than rational. Keep thinking on how you can improve your presentation.

In principle, you must try to convince and educate your wife in following any directive of Islam. You have not been authorized to use force in such matters. Also, you will not be held responsible for any deed of your wife if you tried your best to stop her from something that was wrong according to your own perception.

As far as the last part of your question is concerned covering the head is essential when the hair has been made up and embellished. If this is not the case, then head covering though still desirable is not obligatory.
