  • The Levels of Yaqeen: From Knowledge to Experience

In the journey of faith, one of the most beautiful and powerful concepts described in the Qur’an and explained by scholars is Yaqeen—the state of certainty. Yaqeen is not simply belief; it is the unshakable conviction that settles in the heart, removes doubts, and transforms how we live. Like a flame that begins as a spark and grows into a steady light, Yaqeen develops through stages. The Qur’an and classical scholars describe three levels of Yaqeen: ‘Ilm al-Yaqeen (Certainty of Knowledge), ‘Ayn al-Yaqeen (Certainty of Seeing), and Haqq al-Yaqeen (Truth of Certainty). Each level takes us deeper into knowing, seeing, and ultimately experiencing the truth.

    1. ‘Ilm al-Yaqeen – Certainty of Knowledge

The first level of Yaqeen is based on knowledge. We believe something because it has been authentically conveyed to us through reliable sources. Just as a person knows that fire burns because he has studied it or been told about it, the believer knows of Jannah, Jahannum, and the unseen realities through the Qur’an and Sunnah.

The Qur’an refers to this stage in Surah Takathur:
“No! If you only knew with knowledge of certainty (‘ilm al-yaqeen).” (102:5)

At this level, the intellect is convinced. A Muslim who reads the Qur’an and understands its proofs acquires ‘Ilm al-Yaqeen. However, this level still leaves space for the heart to seek greater clarity. It is like reading about honey in a book—you know it exists, but you have not tasted it yet.

    2. ‘Ayn al-Yaqeen – Certainty of Seeing

The second level is more powerful, for it involves direct sight or experience through the senses. It is no longer about being told; it is about witnessing. Imagine being told that a fire is hot. Then, one day, you actually see the fire blazing. Your conviction becomes stronger, for now your eyes confirm what your mind already knew.

The Qur’an continues in Surah Takathur:
“Then you will surely see it with the eye of certainty (‘ayn al-yaqeen).” (102:7)

In spiritual life, this level comes when signs of Allah manifest in one’s own life. A person who witnesses answered prayers, sees how sins bring hardship, or experiences the tranquility of dhikr (remembrance of Allah) begins to reach ‘Ayn al-Yaqeen. It is no longer abstract—it is lived reality.

    3. Haqq al-Yaqeen – Truth of Certainty

The final and highest level is Haqq al-Yaqeen, when knowledge and vision transform into direct experience of the truth. This is not about hearing or seeing; it is about living it fully. To return to the example of fire: it is one thing to hear of it, another to see it, but when you place your hand into the flame, you feel the burning. Now there is no doubt left, because you have personally experienced its reality.

The Qur’an says in Surah Waqi‘ah:
“Indeed, this is the truth of certainty (haqq al-yaqeen).” (56:95)

In matters of faith, Haqq al-Yaqeen is when the believer lives in a constant state of awareness of Allah’s presence. Worship is no longer a ritual but a reality tasted with the heart. Death removes all veils, and every human being then enters into this level completely, for the unseen becomes seen and the truth undeniable.

    Practical Lessons for Our Lives

The three levels of Yaqeen are not only philosophical ideas; they are a roadmap for spiritual growth:
    1. Learn (‘Ilm al-Yaqeen): Study the Qur’an, Hadith, and the wisdom of scholars. Knowledge is the foundation. Without it, the heart remains empty.
    2. Reflect and Observe (‘Ayn al-Yaqeen): Look at the signs of Allah in your life and in the universe. Practice gratitude, mindfulness, and reflection to see His reality unfold before your eyes.
    3. Experience and Live (Haqq al-Yaqeen): Practice sincerity in worship, purify your heart, and strive for closeness to Allah until faith becomes a lived reality—not just knowledge.

    Conclusion

The journey of Yaqeen is the journey of the believer—from information to transformation. At first, we know the truth because Allah told us. Then, we see the truth unfold in our lives. Finally, we taste and live the truth with every breath. The one who reaches Haqq al-Yaqeen lives without fear of the future and without doubt in the present, for his heart has found peace in Allah’s reality.

In our times of confusion and distraction, understanding these levels reminds us that faith is not static—it can and must grow. And as Yaqeen deepens, it brings light not only to the believer’s heart but to the entire society around him.

The Qur’an continues in Surah Takathur: “Then you will surely see it with the eye of certainty (‘ayn al-yaqeen).” (102:7) In spiritual life, this level comes when signs of Allah manifest in one’s own life. A person who witnesses answered prayers, sees how sins bring hardship, or experiences the tranquility of dhikr (remembrance of Allah) begins to reach ‘Ayn al-Yaqeen. It is no longer abstract—it is lived reality. ⸻ 3. Haqq al-Yaqeen – Truth of Certainty The final and highest level is Haqq al-Yaqeen, when knowledge and vision transform into direct experience of the truth. This is not about hearing or seeing; it is about living it fully. To return to the example of fire: it is one thing to hear of it, another to see it, but when you place your hand into the flame, you feel the burning. Now there is no doubt left, because you have personally experienced its reality. The Qur’an says in Surah Waqi‘ah: “Indeed, this is the truth of certainty (haqq al-yaqeen).” (56:95) In matters of faith, Haqq al-Yaqeen is when the believer lives in a constant state of awareness of Allah’s presence. Worship is no longer a ritual but a reality tasted with the heart. Death removes all veils, and every human being then enters into this level completely, for the unseen becomes seen and the truth undeniable. ⸻ Practical Lessons for Our Lives The three levels of Yaqeen are not only philosophical ideas; they are a roadmap for spiritual growth: 1. ⸻ Conclusion The journey of Yaqeen is the journey of the believer—from information to transformation. #yaqeen #rehanessay #Rehanallahwala

  • The Yaqeen of Rehan School – Believing Before the World Believes

There are moments in human history when a small idea changes the destiny of nations. Today, we are standing at one of those moments. Artificial Intelligence has created the greatest shift in human history. It is not just changing jobs; it is changing the way we live, learn, and earn. And in the middle of this shift, Rehan School was born with one bold belief:

Children can learn, and children can earn.

But here is the truth: most people don’t believe it.

The First Doubt – “How can a child earn in Class 5?”

When I tell people that a student in Class 5 can earn 5,000 rupees a month, they laugh. They shake their heads in disbelief. “Impossible!” they say. But I have seen it with my own eyes. I know students who have done it. They are not many yet, but they are proof that it is possible. This is ‘Ilm al-Yaqeen—the certainty of knowledge. I know it because I have learned it, tested it, and seen the results.

The Second Doubt – “How can a student earn $100 in Class 6?”

When I say that in Class 6, a child will earn $100 a month, people doubt even more. “A child making in one month what some families earn in two?” But again, I have seen it. Students who practiced, who learned, who used AI tools and social media, have done it. This is ‘Ayn al-Yaqeen—the certainty of seeing. Not just theory, but actual living proof.

The Third Doubt – “How can a student earn $200 or $500 before college?”

And when I say that by Class 7, a child can make $200 a month, and by Class 8, $500 a month, people almost stop listening. Their minds cannot accept it, because it is too far from what schools have always been. But I am waiting for the time when not one or two, but hundreds and thousands of students will be doing this. That is Haqq al-Yaqeen—the truth of certainty. When it is no longer a story but a new reality for the whole nation.

    My Challenge

This is my greatest challenge. Not AI. Not money. Not education. My biggest challenge is convincing people to believe. Because the idea is so new, so different, that most parents and teachers cannot imagine it. They cannot believe that their child can learn English, confidence, AI, and social media—and actually earn before finishing school.

And because they don’t believe, they don’t join. And because they don’t join, they are losing the most precious time in the history of mankind—the time when Artificial Intelligence is rewriting the future of the world.

    A Call to Believers

I call upon those who believe in themselves. I call upon those who believe in me, in Rehan School, in the power of AI, in the power of children. If you have Yaqeen, even a little, then join us. Bring your children, bring your students, bring your community.

Because when the wave of Rehan School rises, when thousands of students are earning, learning, and building startups before they finish school, the whole country—and the whole world—will have no choice but to believe.

    The Future Is Already Here

One day, people will look back and say, “We should have joined earlier. We should have believed earlier.”

But that day, it may be too late.

The question is not whether this future will come. The question is:
Will you be among those who doubted, or those who believed?

This is the Yaqeen of Rehan School.
And this is the Yaqeen that will change Pakistan—and the world.
