**“What lies behind us and what lies before us are tiny matters compared to what lies within us.” — Ralph Waldo Emerson**

This powerful quote reminds us that our greatest strength does not come from our past, our circumstances, or even the future we are waiting for—it comes from **within us**. Our past may have taught us valuable lessons, and the future may bring new challenges and opportunities, but what truly shapes our journey is the courage, hope, determination, and potential we carry inside ourselves.

Sometimes we spend too much time thinking about what has already happened or worrying about what might happen next. We may regret our mistakes, fear failure, or feel uncertain about the future. But this beautiful message encourages us to look inward and recognize the strength we already possess. Every experience can teach us something, every challenge can make us stronger, and every new day gives us another opportunity to grow.

**Your past does not define your entire story. Your future is not written yet. Your inner strength can help you create the next chapter.** Believe in your abilities, keep learning, stay hopeful, and continue moving forward—even when progress feels slow.

Let this quote remind you that true greatness is not only measured by achievements, awards, or success. It can also be found in kindness, courage, patience, creativity, resilience, and the determination to keep going.

    Believe in yourself.
    Discover your potential.
    Learn from yesterday.
    Hope for tomorrow.
    Make the most of today.

May this inspiring message encourage you to look within, appreciate your unique strengths, and face every new challenge with confidence and positivity. **The most important part of your journey may not be what is behind you or what is ahead of you, but the incredible potential that exists within you.**

    Mulla Nasrudin's Missing Ring

One evening, Mulla Nasrudin was searching under a bright street lamp, looking worried and carefully scanning the ground. A passerby noticed him and kindly asked, "Mulla, what are you looking for?"

    "My ring," replied Nasrudin.

The passerby immediately joined the search. Soon, several more people stopped to help. They searched every inch beneath the lamp, but after a long while, no one could find the ring.

Finally, one of the helpers asked, "Mulla, are you sure you lost it here?"

Nasrudin calmly answered, "Oh no, I lost it inside my house."

The surprised crowd stared at him. "Then why are we searching out here?"

Mulla smiled and said, "Because there is more light here than inside my house!"

Everyone laughed, but then they realized the deeper meaning hidden behind his humorous answer.

This famous Mulla Nasrudin story reminds us of an important lesson: people often search for solutions where it is easiest or most comfortable instead of where the real problem exists. Whether it's in our personal lives, careers, relationships, or education, we sometimes avoid facing difficult truths and instead focus on convenient distractions.

The story encourages us to look inward, confront challenges honestly, and seek answers in the right place—even when it requires courage and effort. Real growth begins when we stop searching under the "bright streetlight" of convenience and start exploring the places where the real answers lie.

    Moral of the Story:

Look for solutions where the problem truly exists.
Convenience is not always the path to truth.
    Wisdom comes from honest self-reflection.
Real success requires facing challenges directly.
Sometimes the hardest place to look is exactly where you'll find what you need.

  • *There were three ships which were nearby when the Titanic sunk !*

One of them was known as the -*Sampson*. It was 7 miles away from the Titanic and they saw the white flares signaling danger, but because the crew had been hunting seals illegally and didnt want to be caught, they turned and went the opposite direction away from the Titanic. This ship represents many people like us, who are so busy looking inward at our own lives that we cant recognize when someone else is in need.

The next ship was the -*Californian*. This ship was only 14 miles away from the Titanic, but they were surrounded by ice fields and the captain looked out and saw the white flares, but because the conditions werent favorable and it was dark, he decided to go back to bed and wait until morning. The crew tried to convince themselves that nothing was happening. This ship represents those of us who often say – "I cant do anything now. The conditions arent right for it and so we wait until conditions are perfect before going out."

The last ship was the - *Carpathia* This ship was actually headed in a *opposite* direction 58 miles away from the Titanic when they heard the distress cries over the radio. The captain of this ship knelt down, prayed to God for direction and then turned the ship around and went full steam ahead through the ice fields. *This was the ship that saved the 705 survivors of the Titanic*

    *-ANALOGY -*

Obstacles and reasons to avoid responsibility shall always be there, But those who accept it always find a place in the hearts of the world, always to be remembered for good they do.

I really wish that more of us could be *Carpathians* in life, unlike more Sampsons and Californians; and this world could be a more beautiful place to live in.

  • Some ideas for the new normal:

    1. Make cities car-free on Sundays. The streets should become parks where children can play and grandparents can walk. Every neighbourhood should organise a night bazaar from 5pm to 10pm.

    2. Start a citizen app - ensure that we know who is doing well and who needs help. We should never have to wonder again: who needs help today?

    3. Every family should be included in a neighbourhood group of 100 to 150 called “community club”. The group should have diversity - rich and poor together. They should engage in life-skills trainings, lifting up the weakest in the group through education and scholarships, have weekly potlucks and generally stay in touch. Should belong to the same 1 sq km to be at walking distance.

    4. Our large cities are overflowing. We should build new towns near our cities (especially Karachi) and give free pieces of land to build houses. To kickstart a new town, build the first 10,000 houses and give them on interest free loans.

    5. Empty houses and plots in urban areas should be taxed heavily - something like Rs 50,000 per month for an unused house/plot - to discourage land hoarding and encourage fair use.

    6. We should invest in massive coworking spaces and encourage Work From Anywhere in these with fast internet, event space, meeting rooms, cafes and a sense of community. They should be built on public land and managed by private organisations. Increase supply to discourage price inflation.

    7. We should invest in areas called slums. Start from the edge of the city and work inwards. These places should become green, colourful and loveable.

    8. Expand free access public spaces - parks, night bazaars, walking paths, sports facilities, theatre halls, swimming pools and so on. Let people run small businesses everywhere without owning the property.

    9. Translate the world’s knowledge into local languages and build massive digital libraries.

    10. Do things that build more and better human connections and avoid things that make life miserable for one or more people.

  • The Forty Rules of Love.

    1. **How we see God** is a direct reflection of how we see ourselves. If God brings to mind mostly fear and blame, it means there is mostly fear and blame within us.
    2. **The path to the Truth** is a labor of the heart, not of the head. Make your heart your primary guide, not your mind. Meet, challenge, and ultimately prevail over your nafs (ego) with your heart.
    3. **You can study God** through everything and everyone in the universe because God is not confined in a mosque, synagogue, or church. But if you are still in need of knowing where exactly His abode is, there is only one place to look for Him: in the heart of a true lover.
    4. **Intellect and love** are made of different materials. Intellect ties people in knots and risks nothing, but love dissolves all tangles and risks everything.
    5. **Most of the problems** of the world stem from linguistic mistakes and simple misunderstandings. Don’t ever take words at face value. When you step into the zone of love, language as we know it becomes obsolete. That which cannot be put into words can only be grasped through silence.
    6. **Loneliness and solitude** are two different things. When you are lonely, it is easy to delude yourself into believing that you are on the right path. Solitude is better for us, as it means being alone without feeling lonely.
    7. **Whatever happens in your life, no matter how troubling things might seem, do not enter the neighborhood of despair.** Even when all doors remain closed, God will open up a new path only for you. Be thankful!
    8. **Patience does not mean to passively endure.** It means to look at the end of a process. What does patience mean? It means to look at the thorn and see the rose, to look at the night and see the dawn. Impatience means to be shortsighted as to not be able to see the outcome.
    9. **East, west, south, or north** makes little difference. No matter what your destination, just be sure to make every journey a journey within. If you travel within, you’ll travel the whole wide world and beyond.
    10. **The midwife knows** that when there is no pain, the way for the baby cannot be opened, and the mother cannot give birth. Similarly, for a new Self to be born, hardship is necessary. Just as clay needs to go through intense heat to become strong, Love can only be perfected in pain.
    11. **The quest for love** changes user. There is no seeker among those who search for love who has not matured on the way.
    12. **There are more false guides** and teachers in this world than stars in the visible universe. Beware of impostors. And know that it is only real guidance that can lead you to the Love that you seek.
    13. **Not all suffering** is harmful. There are some that cleanse us and purify us, and there are some that drag us down and lead us into more darkness.
    14. **It is easy to love** a perfect God, unblemished and immaculate that He is. What is far more difficult is to love fellow human beings with all their imperfections and defects.
    15. **The true lover is** the one who can thrill you by kissing your forehead or smiling into your eyes or just staring into space.
    16. **Try not to resist the changes** which come your way. Instead, let life live through you. And do not worry that your life is turning upside down. How do you know that the side you are used to is better than the one to come?
    17. **Love is a travel.** All travelers whether they want or not are changed. No one can travel into Love and remain the same.
    18. **If you want to change the way others treat you**, you should first change the way you treat yourself. Unless you learn to love yourself, fully and sincerely, there is no way you can be loved.
    19. **Real filth is the one inside.** The rest simply washes off.
    20. **The whole universe is contained within a single human being – you.** Everything that you see around, including the things you might not be fond of and even the people you despise or abhor, is present within you in varying degrees. Therefore, do not look for Sheitan (Satan) outside yourself either. The devil is not an extraordinary force that attacks from outside. It is an ordinary voice within.
    21. **The world is like a snowy mountain** that echoes your voice. Whatever you speak, good or evil, will somehow come back to you. Therefore, if there is someone who harbors ill thoughts about you, saying similarly bad things about him will only make matters worse. You will be locked in a vicious circle of malevolent energy. Instead, for forty days and nights, say and think nice things about that person. Everything will be different at the end of the forty days.
    22. **The past is an interpretation.** The future is an illusion. The world does not move through time as if it were a straight line, proceeding from the past to the future. Instead, time moves through and within us, in endless spirals. Eternity does not mean infinite time but simply timelessness. If you want to experience eternal illumination, put the past and the future out of your mind and remain within the present moment.
    23. **Fate does not mean** that your life has been strictly predetermined. Therefore, to leave everything to fate and not actively contribute to the music of the universe is a sign of sheer ignorance.
    24. **Never forget that God is a meticulous clockmaker.** So precise is His order that everything on earth happens in its own time. Neither a minute late nor a minute early. And everything is created with a divine wisdom. We are all just like clocks, including our main springs. Therefore, be patient about your perplexities and wait for the unraveling of the mysteries of your life.
    25. **As long as we keep getting lost in our own desires,** fears, and worries, we will not be able to find the real self. Therefore, surrender to the flow of the rivers of life without any reservations.
    26. **The past is a distant shore, and the future is an imaginary horizon.** Only the present is real. Therefore, take heed to your present thoughts and actions, for they will become your destiny.
    27. **Suffering is not a punishment; it is a gift.** Within suffering is hidden mercy and blessings.
    28. **Be grateful to those who have hurt or wronged you**, for they have helped you learn about patience and compassion.
    29. **What is true of the individual will be tomorrow true of the whole nation.** If falsehood brings calamity to one person, it will be a greater evil for an entire people.
    30. **If you want to change the world**, you should first change yourself. Change and transformation start within, not outside.
    31. **Peace is not the absence of conflict but the presence of creative alternatives for responding to conflict** — alternatives to passive or aggressive responses, alternatives to violence.
    32. **The purpose of the existence of every person is to realize God within oneself.** It is the knowledge of this that brings enlightenment and peace to the soul.
    33. **Love is the water of life.** And a lover is a soul of fire! The universe turns differently when fire loves water.
    34. **When you love someone, there is no way you can distance yourself from the pain of the other.** When someone suffers, you too feel the pain. And if you can stay unaffected by the pain, that is not love.
    35. **The ultimate aim of life is to find the divine truth that lies within.** No matter what happens in life, you need to always seek the higher self within you.
    36. **All religious practices are meant to be only a means to an end.** They are merely our human ways of making the divine reality visible to our finite minds. However, it is not the outward appearance of religious practices that is important, but their inward essence.
    37. **Once you embark on the path of truth,** be prepared for both hardships and joy. They will be your inseparable companions.
    38. **You will learn to live through both sorrow and joy, like an empty bell which makes a sound only when it is hit.** The more you are pained, the more the instrument of your soul will be refined and the better you will be able to express yourself.
    39. **The true essence of love lies beyond words and expressions.** The more you try to express it, the more it will elude you. Words can only be symbols for the inexpressible truth.
    40. **When you come face-to-face with the real essence of love, you will no longer be searching for it.** For the search will become unnecessary, and you will be immersed in the divine truth of love.

These rules emphasize the themes of love, spirituality, and the inner journey, aligning with the teachings of Sufism and the spiritual bond between Rumi and Shams of Tabriz.
The Forty Rules of Love. 1. **How we see God** is a direct reflection of how we see ourselves. If God brings to mind mostly fear and blame, it means there is mostly fear and blame within us. 2. **The path to the Truth** is a labor of the heart, not of the head.

  • Act as a lawyer of finance and so this is what I want to do I want to open a bank account so that people can pay me in the United States for my freelancing services and I want to use it in Pakistan. How is prove to me that it is illegal to do and prove to me again as a second lawyer that it is absolutely legal.

    LAWYER #1: THE “IT’S ILLEGAL” GUY (a.k.a. Mr. Doom-n-Gloom)

Ladies and gentlemen of the imaginary jury,
Let’s be clear: If you’re a Pakistani resident using a U.S.-based bank account to receive freelancing payments and then spend the funds in Pakistan without proper disclosures or compliance with State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) regulations, there are legal risks. Why?

    1. Violation of Pakistani Foreign Exchange Regulations:
Under the Foreign Exchange Regulation Act (FERA) in Pakistan, all foreign income must be declared. If you’re bypassing formal remittance channels (like Western Union or bank inward remittance), the SBP may see this as circumventing their monitoring system.

    2. Tax Evasion Concerns:
If you earn money abroad but do not declare it as foreign income in your Pakistani tax returns, the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) might consider it undeclared income. That’s a legal headache no freelancer wants.

    3. Money Laundering Laws (FATF compliance):
International laws (especially those followed by U.S. banks) require transparency. If you’re routing funds without proof of services or proper invoicing, it could flag you or your account under AML (Anti-Money Laundering) compliance rules.

    In short:
If you use a U.S. bank and spend the money in Pakistan without reporting or registering, you may be violating both U.S. banking laws and Pakistani financial regulations. Now let’s hand it to our optimistic, loophole-loving friend…

    ⸻

LAWYER #2: THE “IT’S TOTALLY LEGAL” GUY (a.k.a. Captain Chill)

    Your Honor,
Let’s inject some reality here. Freelancers all over the world do exactly this every day—legally. Here’s why:

    1. It’s Your Money. You Earned It.
If you’re offering services online (say, on Upwork, Fiverr, or your own platform), and your clients in the U.S. pay you into a legal U.S. bank account in your name, there’s nothing inherently illegal about that. You are not stealing. You are not laundering. You’re just being efficient.

    2. Pakistan Allows Foreign Currency Accounts (FCAs):
You are allowed to maintain foreign currency accounts. If you report the earnings properly to the FBR and declare the existence of your foreign bank account in your tax documents (under Section 116 of the Income Tax Ordinance), then it’s all above board.

    3. You’re Not Smuggling Money—You’re Earning Digitally.
The money you spend in Pakistan isn’t being smuggled in a briefcase. You can remit it officially, use Payoneer, Wise, or a legal debit card. The State Bank doesn’t ban digital workers from holding offshore accounts.

    4. IRS & SBP Don’t Care—As Long As You’re Honest.
As long as you are filing taxes in Pakistan and declaring your foreign income, neither the U.S. IRS nor the SBP has a problem. If you’re below the FBAR threshold ($10,000+ in offshore accounts), you don’t even have to tell the IRS unless required. And Pakistani law doesn’t prohibit you from keeping the money abroad.

    ⸻

    Verdict:

It’s not illegal to have a U.S. bank account as a Pakistani freelancer, as long as:
    • You declare it in your tax returns in Pakistan.
    • You do not hide the income from Pakistani authorities.
    • You follow proper remittance procedures if you bring the money into Pakistan.

  • How to earn 1 million dollars by Helping a Million people !

Chapter 4 — Who First Said This, and Why It’s True

The idea that helping people creates wealth did not begin as a motivational quote.
It emerged independently, again and again, across economics, philosophy, psychology, and entrepreneurship—each time stated more clearly, more boldly.

What sounds today like a modern startup slogan is, in fact, a 300-year-old pattern of reality.

Let’s look at where this idea was explicitly written, not implied.

    ⸻

    The Oldest Clear Moral Statement

One of the earliest books to say this without hesitation is The Science of Getting Rich.

Wallace D. Wattles wrote, plainly and unapologetically:

“No man gets rich unless he enriches others.”

This was not poetry. It was a rule.

Wattles argued that wealth is not taken from society; it is created by increasing life, ease, and opportunity for others.
According to him, money is simply the measurement of how much value you added to the lives of people.

In today’s language, Wattles was saying:

The more people you help — and the more meaningfully you help them — the more wealth you create.

    ⸻

    The Economic Proof

More than a century earlier, The Wealth of Nations laid the mathematical foundation.

Adam Smith is often misunderstood as glorifying greed. In reality, he explained something subtler and far more powerful:
    • Markets reward those who serve real needs
    • Scale multiplies value
    • Society automatically compensates useful solutions

His famous “invisible hand” is not selfishness — it is distributed service.

In modern terms, Adam Smith proved this equation:

Solve a problem many people have → society pays you for it.

He didn’t write it as a slogan.
He proved it as an economic law.

    ⸻

    The Psychological Layer

Decades later, How to Win Friends and Influence People reframed the same truth through human behavior.

    Dale Carnegie wrote:

“You can make more friends in two months by becoming interested in other people than in two years trying to get other people interested in you.”

This is the same rule — expressed psychologically.

    Interest → trust
    Trust → adoption
    Adoption → scale

Carnegie showed that value flows toward those who focus outward, not inward.

    ⸻

    The Startup Translation

In the modern era, this idea became brutally precise.

In Zero to One, Peter Thiel explains that large fortunes come from solving problems so well that millions of people choose you by default.

    His insight is simple:
    • Competition destroys value
    • Monopoly emerges when you solve a problem deeply and uniquely
    • Scale is not optional — it is the goal

    Thiel didn’t moralize the idea.
    He operationalized it.

    ⸻

    The Process Manual

Then came The Lean Startup, which turned philosophy into execution.

    Ries showed how to:
    • Identify real problems
    • Test solutions with real humans
    • Measure learning
    • Kill bad ideas early
    • Scale what actually helps

Hidden inside this method is an assumption:

People only pay when they feel helped.

    Revenue is not persuasion.
    It is proof of usefulness.

    ⸻

    The Systems Thinker’s Rule

In Principles, Ray Dalio makes the relationship explicit:

    Progress = solving problems
Rewards = proportional to the difficulty and scale of those problems

Bigger problem solved well → bigger reward.

    No emotion.
    No mythology.
    Just cause and effect.

    ⸻

    The Moral Enforcement Mechanism

Finally, Skin in the Game adds the final filter.

Taleb explains why fake solutions fail and real ones survive:
    • If you benefit, you must bear responsibility
    • Systems punish pretenders
    • Only real value scales long-term

    This removes shortcuts.

Only solutions that actually help people endure.

    ⸻

    The One-Sentence Summary

Paul Graham, founder of Y Combinator, distilled all of this into one sentence:

    “Make something people want.”

That sentence contains every book above.
    • If 10 people want it → learning
    • If 1,000 people want it → business
    • If 1,000,000 people want it → wealth
    • If 1,000,000,000 people want it → world-level impact

    ⸻

Why This Idea Was Never Taught in Schools

Because schools were designed to produce:
    • Employees
    • Compliance
    • Predictability

    This idea produces:
    • Independence
    • Builders
    • Problem-solvers

Teaching teenagers that money follows service at scale breaks dependency on outdated systems.

That is why it was never standardized.

    ⸻

    Why AI Changes Everything Now

All these thinkers lived in a world where scale was expensive.

    AI removes that barrier.

    Today, a student can:
    • Analyze millions of complaints
    • Detect hidden patterns
    • Design solutions instantly
    • Test globally
    • Scale without permission

For the first time in history, the age of the problem-solver no longer matters.

    ⸻

Why Rehan School Teaches This First

    We do not ask students:
    “What job do you want?”

    We ask:
“What problem will you solve for a million people?”

    Because:
    • Jobs disappear
    • Titles expire
    • Problems remain

A student who can identify problems, use AI responsibly, build solutions, and scale ethically will never be irrelevant.

    ⸻

    The Truth This Chapter Establishes

    You are not chasing money.

    You are chasing impact.

And money — whether one million or one billion — is simply society saying:

    “Thank you. That helped.”

In the next chapter, we learn how to see problems the way builders see them — not as obstacles, but as invitations.

Because every meaningful journey begins with one honest question:

“Why does this problem still exist?”par
