The institution was re-established in 1989 by the Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan.

    Mission and Philosophy

MUI’s mission is to develop a new educational paradigm for the 21st century that begins with a God-centered education. The institution emphasizes self-mastery, aiming to cultivate students who possess high intellect, moral conduct, and the drive to contribute positively to their families, communities, and nation.

    Curriculum and Programs

The curriculum at MUI includes traditional academic courses alongside specialized programs such as manhood and womanhood training, home economics, and self-defense. The institution incorporates aspects of the Core Knowledge curriculum, Common Core Standards, and Next Generation Science Standards, all tailored to meet the specific needs of its students.

MUI has multiple campuses across the United States, including locations in Chicago, Illinois; Houston, Texas; New York City, New York; Washington, D.C.; and Los Angeles, California.
