  • 1. You know youre Pakistani when the concept of "spicy" for others is just the starting point for your everyday meals.

    2. Youve been part of a debate on whether Karachis biryani is superior to Lahores pulao, knowing well that this discussion could go on for hours without a definitive conclusion.

    3. You consider it a personal challenge to introduce foreigners to "paan" after a heavy meal and watch their reactions unfold.

    4. The joy of mango season is almost a religious experience, with discussions about the superiority of "Sindhri" vs. "Chaunsa" taking over family gatherings.

    5. Youve explained more than once that "chai" is not just a beverage; its an essential part of your daily routine and social fabric.

    6. You know that a true Pakistani breakfast can range from "halwa puri" to "nasi lemak," showcasing the countrys regional diversity and influences.

    7. Youve experienced the late-night "food street" excursions that start as a simple snack run and end with a full feast.

    8. You understand that "dhaba" (roadside restaurant) food holds a special place in Pakistani cuisine, offering some of the most authentic and flavorful dishes.

    9. The art of making the perfect "roti" is something youve seen mastered over generations, with each family swearing by their technique.

    10. Youve navigated the complex world of "karhai" varieties, each with its own unique blend of spices and preparation methods, from "chicken" to "mutton" and beyond.

    11. The concept of "afternoon tea" is incomplete without a generous serving of "samosas," "pakoras," and other snacks, turning it into a mini feast.

    12. Youve been part of conversations where "ghee" vs. "oil" cooking debates have gotten more intense than political discussions.

    13. The winter ritual of making "saag" and "makki di roti" is an annual tradition that brings families together, celebrating the harvest with warmth and joy.

    14. You understand that in Pakistani cuisine, theres a pickle ("achaar") for every occasion, adding a tangy zest to even the simplest meals.

    15. The sight of a "lassi" or "falooda" vendor on a hot day brings more joy than the sight of an oasis to a wanderer in the desert.

  • Affordable Internet in Pakistan: A Game-Changer for Students and Parents

In today’s digital world, internet access is no longer a luxury—it’s a necessity. For millions of students in Pakistan, it can mean the difference between being left behind or leaping forward.

But that same money can provide unlimited learning and earning opportunities for your children.

    With home internet:
    • Students can attend free online tuition, download books, and watch lectures.
    • Mothers can learn freelancing, run online shops, or tutor.
    • Kids can start learning English, computers, and AI tools early.

This is not an expense. It’s a life-changing investment.

    ⸻

    Compare: Tuition vs Internet

    Expense Monthly PKR Monthly USD
    Private Tuition (1 subject) Rs 3,000–5,000 $10.71–$17.86

    ⸻

    What You Can Do Today

    Students:
    • Ask your parents to install internet now.
    • Use YouTube, ChatGPT, and Khan Academy for learning.
    • Learn valuable skills like Canva, typing, freelancing, and coding.

    Parents:
    • Install PTCL, WorldCall, or DotNet at home—even the most basic plan helps.
    • Encourage kids to use it for learning first, entertainment second.
    • Share your internet with a neighbor and split the cost if needed.

    ⸻

    Final Word: Connect to Uplift

Just like roads bring cities together, internet connects minds.

If every home in Pakistan had a Rs 699 ($2.50) connection, we’d see:
    • Better educated kids
    • Empowered mothers
    • Tech-savvy youth
    • A stronger Pakistan

So, whether you’re a student, a parent, or an overseas donor…

  • Boredom Is Not the Enemy — It Is Unused Power

Most people think boredom is a problem.
    Something to escape.
Something to kill with a phone, noise, or distraction.

    But boredom is not emptiness.
Boredom is excess energy with no direction.

When the brain is bored, it is not saying “I want entertainment.”
    It is saying:

“I am capable of more than this moment is asking from me.”

    The misunderstanding of boredom

Modern society treats boredom like pain.
The solution is always instant dopamine:
    • scrolling
    • videos
    • snacks
    • noise

This trains the brain to run away from discomfort instead of learning how to command itself.

That is why many people feel tired even after resting, and empty even after entertainment.

    Purposeful boredom exists

At Rehan School, many tasks feel boring at first:
    • repetitive practice
    • structured routines
    • discipline-based activities
    • silent work
    • thinking without instant reward

    This boredom confuses students.

    They ask:

“If this is important, why does it feel boring?”

    Here is the truth:

Just because you don’t feel the purpose yet does not mean the task is purposeless.

A seed underground feels like darkness, not growth.

    Boredom + purpose = discipline

There is a powerful transformation available to every student:

    Boredom → Awareness → Discipline

When you are bored during a Rehan School task:
    • Do not escape
    • Do not complain
    • Do not seek stimulation

    Instead:
    1. Pause
    2. Sit still
    3. Breathe
    4. Meditate for 2–5 minutes
    5. Return to the task calmly

    This does one critical thing:

It teaches the brain to obey intention instead of impulse.

    That is discipline.

    Why meditation during boredom works

Meditation is not silence for the mind.
    It is training for control.

When boredom arises and you meditate:
    • You stop resisting the moment
    • You stop demanding excitement
    • You accept purposeful discomfort

    This builds:
    • patience
    • focus
    • emotional strength
    • leadership capacity

The exact traits required to build startups, solve problems, and lead people.

    Convert boredom into discipline

Entertainment makes you feel good now.
    Discipline makes you powerful later.

    Every time you choose to:
    • stay with a boring task
    • meditate instead of escape
    • finish what you started

You are upgrading your nervous system.

You are becoming someone who can:
    • work without motivation
    • think without noise
    • act without applause

    Final truth

Boredom is not a signal to quit.
It is a signal to grow up internally.

At Rehan School, boredom is not removed.
    It is used.

Because the world does not reward the most entertained minds —
it rewards the most disciplined ones.
Boredom Is Not the Enemy — It Is Unused Power Most people think boredom is a problem. Something to escape. Something to kill with a phone, noise, or distraction. But boredom is not emptiness. Boredom is excess energy with no direction. When the brain is bored, it is not saying “I want entertainment.” It is saying: “I am capable of more than this moment is asking from me.” The misunderstanding of boredom Modern society treats boredom like pain. I have been living in Houston for a long time. For all those who were here in the early nineties there was a trend of having chand raat celebrations. For years it was families coming together and meeting each other wishing a happy eid. Local aunties volunteering to put henna and also light snacks were served.
Then that innocent get together became commercialized and it became more like a party with live music and vendors selling clothes and also charging for henna and bangles. Less and less families and more guys and girls started coming out and it became a place to intermingle and do all those things that were disliked by Allah SWT.
It reached a limit when non Muslims started crashing "Chand Raat" celebrations and bringing alcohol with them. Fights started to break out and even police was called to break up those fights.

After that people started boycotting these unislamic ways to celebrate Chand Raat.

Islam allows us to have fun and celebrate a joyous occasion. So please follow those ways. We work so hard for 30 days asking Allah SWT for guidance and forgiveness, and on the night when our report card is handed to us, lets not do things that are disliked by Allah SWT.
Plenty of masajid have programs where you can celebrate that night before eid. Please join those celebrations and please Allah SWT rather listening to your nafs.

    JazakAllah Kher

May Allah SWT accept our fast
    Eid Mubarak
