Mulla Nasrudin & the Tightrope Walker
One day, a famous tightrope walker came to town and amazed everyone by walking across a rope stretched high above the ground . A large crowd gathered to watch and cheered loudly as he performed incredible tricks.
After the show, Mulla Nasrudin approached the performer and asked, “How do you manage to walk on such a thin rope without falling?”
The tightrope walker smiled and replied, “It is simple. I keep my balance by leaning a little to the left when I feel myself falling to the right , and leaning a little to the right when I feel myself falling to the left .”
Mulla thought deeply for a moment and then said, “Ah! That explains the secret of life too!”
The performer looked surprised . “What do you mean?” he asked.
Mulla replied, “In life, we also need balance . If we work too much , we need rest . If we spend too much , we need to save . If we talk too much , we should listen more . Happiness comes when we learn to keep balance in everything we do.”
The tightrope walker nodded in agreement , and the crowd realized that Mulla had shared a valuable lesson hidden inside a simple answer .
