میری کہانی… اور میرا مشن سال 2015 میں میں صرف پانچ سال کا تھا۔ شروع میں یہ بس ایک عام بیماری جیسی لگ رہی تھی۔ بخار تھا۔ کمزوری تھی۔ جسم ٹوٹ رہا تھا۔ کسی کو اندازہ نہیں تھا کہ میرے جسم میں ایک خطرناک بیکٹیریا داخل ہو چکا ہے۔ بعد میں ہمیں معلوم ہوا کہ یہ Meningococcal Disease تھی جس نے میرے جسم میں جا کر Septicemia پیدا کر دی۔ Septicemia کا مطلب ہے بیکٹیریا خون میں پھیل جانا۔ جب یہ ہوتا ہے تو خون کی نالیاں متاثر ہوتی ہیں خون کا بہاؤ رک جاتا ہے اور جسم کے حصوں تک آکسیجن نہیں پہنچتی۔ اسی وجہ سے میرے ہاتھ کی انگلیاں اور میرے پاؤں متاثر ہوئے۔ ڈاکٹرز نے پوری کوشش کی۔ لیکن انفیکشن بہت تیزی سے بڑھ چکا تھا۔ بعد میں مجھے معلوم ہوا کہ دنیا میں ہر سال ہزاروں کیسز Meningococcal Disease کے رپورٹ ہوتے ہیں۔ ترقی پذیر ممالک میں اس کی شرح زیادہ ہوتی ہے۔ بعض کیسز میں شرح اموات 10٪ سے 20٪ تک ہو سکتی ہے۔ اور جو بچ جاتے ہیں ان میں سے کچھ کو سننے کی طاقت، نظر یا اعضا کا نقصان ہو سکتا ہے۔ یعنی یہ بیماری: • اچانک شروع ہوتی ہے • شروع میں عام بخار جیسی لگتی ہے • چند گھنٹوں میں جان لیوا بن سکتی ہے • اور تاخیر کی صورت میں گینگرین اور امپیوٹیشن کا سبب بن سکتی ہے لیکن ایک اور حقیقت بھی ہے۔ یہ بیماری قابلِ علاج ہے۔ اس کے ویکسینز موجود ہیں۔ ابتدائی علامات پہچان لی جائیں تو جان اور اعضا بچائے جا سکتے ہیں۔ مسئلہ کیا ہے؟ آگاہی کی کمی۔ میری ٹارگٹ آڈیئنس کون ہے؟ میں کام کرنا چاہتا ہوں: • والدین کے ساتھ • سکولوں اور کالجز کے ساتھ • ہاسٹلز اور بورڈنگ سسٹمز کے ساتھ • نوجوانوں کے ساتھ • صحت کے شعبے کے لوگوں کے ساتھ • اور ان کمیونٹیز کے ساتھ جہاں آگاہی کم ہے کیونکہ یہ بیماری قریبی رابطے سے پھیل سکتی ہے۔ بخار + کمزوری + غیر معمولی rash یہ emergency signs ہو سکتے ہیں۔ میرا مقصد کیا ہے؟ میں ہمدردی نہیں مانگ رہا۔ میں ایک مشن شروع کر رہا ہوں۔ میرا مقصد ہے: 10 لاکھ لوگوں تک Sepsis اور Meningococcal Disease کے بارے میں آگاہی پہنچانا۔ میں چاہتا ہوں: • کوئی بچہ صرف اس لیے ہاتھ یا پاؤں نہ کھوئے کیونکہ والدین نے بخار کو معمولی سمجھا • کوئی سکول تاخیر نہ کرے • کوئی ڈاکٹر ریفرل میں دیر نہ کرے • کوئی خاندان لاعلمی کا شکار نہ ہو میرا پیغام ابتدائی علامات کو سنجیدہ لیں۔ غیر معمولی rash کو ignore نہ کریں۔ شدید بخار میں تاخیر نہ کریں۔ ویکسین کے بارے میں معلومات حاصل کریں۔ میں پانچ سال کی عمر میں بچ گیا۔ لیکن ہر کوئی نہیں بچتا۔ اگر میری کہانی ایک بچے کو بھی بچا دے تو یہ مشن کامیاب ہوگا۔ میں زندہ بچ گیا۔ اب میں بچانا چاہتا ہوں۔ — ابرار گینگرین والا #SepsisAwareness #MeningococcalDisease #EarlyDetection #ProtectChildren #PublicHealth
