    In this disturbing days of war and terror I try to reach my so called "enemies" and speak with them directly without any intermediators, I wish to know them as people, as humans and my aim is to make He or She more comfortable to talk, even if we are in total disagreement.

    I use Facebook to connect and talk but I prefer to do it in private chats and not on public posts, since situation is very sensitive and fragile. I realized that in public posts we tend to express more of our public opinions then our personal opinions, we feel more obligated to the "tribe" we belong to and tend to go against other "tribes"

    I wish to talk about the things we have in common and we do have plenty of things in common as I have learned form conversation with other people from other "tribes". With all the differences we have I still want to believe that different tribes can let other tribes to live. Step by step, one by one we may create trust, we may open a small door of hope and let each other live in dignity.

    Background & Struggles

    My name is Syed Rehmat Ali Shah, and I am from Karachi, Pakistan. Since birth, I have lived with a rare condition called Osteogenesis Imperfecta, commonly known as Brittle Bone Disease. It makes my bones so fragile that even a small movement or attempt to walk could break them.

    Because of this, my childhood was filled with challenges. My parents carried me to school when I was young. As an adult, I often had to crawl on the floor just to move around the house. I never had a regular job. I relied completely on my parents and brothers for everything. My nights were spent awake, playing PUBG or watching movies, while I quietly wished for a life of purpose and independence.

    Encounter with Rehan Allahwala

    Everything changed the day I encountered Rehan Allahwala. He saw potential in me when I could not see it in myself. To build my confidence, he gave me my very first job — conducting interviews with students.

    At first it felt simple, but for me it was life-changing. For the first time ever, I had a job. I had a purpose. I still remember the overwhelming joy of spending my first income on small things for my family. It wasn’t about the money, it was about dignity — the realization that I could finally give instead of always depending.

    To build my confidence further, Rehan Bhai invited me to his house for dinner. Sitting there, eating as an equal, was one of the happiest and most memorable moments of my life.

    Journey into Teaching

    After conducting many interviews, I was given a new responsibility: teaching students how to conduct interviews themselves. From there, I became a facilitator with Doulat Bhai at the Rehan School Online Academy. That was the real beginning of my teaching journey.

It makes my bones so fragile that even a small movement or attempt to walk could break them. Because of this, my childhood was filled with challenges. My parents carried me to school when I was young. As an adult, I often had to crawl on the floor just to move around the house. I never had a regular job. I relied completely on my parents and brothers for everything. My nights were spent awake, playing PUBG or watching movies, while I quietly wished for a life of purpose and independence. Encounter with Rehan Allahwala Everything changed the day I encountered Rehan Allahwala. He saw potential in me when I could not see it in myself. To build my confidence, he gave me my very first job — conducting interviews with students. At first it felt simple, but for me it was life-changing. For the first time ever, I had a job. I had a purpose. I still remember the overwhelming joy of spending my first income on small things for my family. It wasn’t about the money, it was about dignity — the realization that I could finally give instead of always depending. To build my confidence further, Rehan Bhai invited me to his house for dinner. Sitting there, eating as an equal, was one of the happiest and most memorable moments of my life. Journey into Teaching After conducting many interviews, I was given a new responsibility: teaching students how to conduct interviews themselves. From there, I became a facilitator with Doulat Bhai at the Rehan School Online Academy. That was the real beginning of my teaching journey. First Encounter with Rehan School I had been following Rehan Bhai online since 2020. When he started Rehan School in Korangi, I kept up with every update. Then in March 2023, he asked me to join the Online Academy team. That was my entry into this mission of changing lives. First Impressions What amazed me about Rehan School was its unique curriculum — centered on Artificial Intelligence, communication, and earning-based learning. I often say: “If I had found such a school in my childhood, I would be doing wonders even greater than today.” A Facilitator, Not a Teacher At Rehan School, I don’t play the role of a “typical teacher.” I create a joyful environment where students feel safe, confident, and curious. Facilitators learn with the students and sometimes even from them. There is no ego here — only growth and discovery. A Typical Day Our day usually begins with greetings and meditation, followed by task-checking, TED Talks, communication practice, or guest sessions. The day is designed to be interactive and fun so that students enjoy learning. Using AI, Internet, and Mentorship • AI: helps students practice communication with instant feedback. • Internet: connects them to global opportunities far beyond books. • Mentorship: adds the human guidance and encouragement needed to apply learning in real life. Student Story – Hamzah Shajah CanvaWala One student who touched me deeply is Hamzah Shajah CanvaWala from Abu Dhabi. Although he excelled in both traditional school and Rehan School, his mother once told me: “Hamzah wants to continue with the Rehan School system instead of the traditional one.” That moment made me realize that what we are doing here is not just effective — it is inspiring real change in how children see education. Proudest Moment On 16th April 2024, during the Rehan School Education Festival at Korangi Campus, I was treated like a celebrity by the students and facilitators. Meeting Rehan Bhai and Dan Ulin there made it even more special. Personal Transformation Rehan School has completely transformed me. • I became confident in communication and leadership. • I improved my skills with AI and technology. • My mindset shifted from self-pity to empowerment. Now I think less about my own struggles and more about empowering others. Why Rehan School is Unique Because it doesn’t trap children in books and exams. It teaches real-life skills, earning ability, and confidence. It is not just education — it is empowerment. Belief in the Slogan Yes, I believe in “Har baccha kamay ga aik lakh mahana.” I’ve seen how it changes lives. But I remind parents that it is not instant magic — it is a journey that takes patience, dedication, and effort. Dreams for Students In the next 5 years, I dream my students will be independent earners, confident communicators, and problem-solvers who uplift their communities and create opportunities for others. My Own Dream In the next 10 years, I want to be fully independent, with my own home and a wheelchair-accessible car. After that, my mission is to dedicate my life to helping other persons with disabilities achieve the same confidence, independence, and dignity that I have found. Memorable Moments • Funny: When I shaved my head bald, students nicknamed me “Bald and Beautiful.” It became a playful bond we still laugh about. • Emotional: When my student Arsalah Iqbal Lehri left the school, it felt like losing a part of my family.
